Look, it's really simple. White took a terrible throw in that went straight to a Brighton player who made one pass to Mac-Smith...GOAL!!

Now, how thick is Grayson? Pugh should be left back, he has no pace and is better with the game in front of him, he stays on his feet and can tackle. If White must play instead of Nunez, play him wide left where his pace is an asset which allows him to attack defenders and keep them staying back rather than making the extra man when the opposition goes forward. Their first two goals came from our left back position.

While White was going forward in the first half, as was Lees, Brighton's 4-4-2 was nullified as their full-backs were stuck defending and their wide mids couldn't advance. This meant our centre-backs had little pressure by way of crosses and advanced midfield runners. The moment Brighton scored they started playing down the flanks more and all their goals came from wide play. Our centre mids did a decent job, but we lost our potency out wide which is where we were causing them problems.

It seems we panicked when Brighton scored, and at 2-1 it was almost as if the team knew they weren't capable of hanging on to the lead or even increasing it. Credit however for playing to the end, Brighton were out on their feet though, and at least we got rewarded for our commitment.

Still feel this is another two points lost. Brighton were there for the taking, Grayson's tactical decisons keep hurting us. Please play Pugh at left-back, we have enough wide players Simon.

I disagree with pugh at left back. He isnt a left back but then neither is white... We need a left back but keep pugh at left mid. But then its gotta be said that i pretty much disagree with everything you have said there.

It strikes me that not only are both Pugh & White decent lBs, but the throw was a cock up. Nothing more, nothing less. White needed shooting for such a basic schoolboy error. But being human, sometimes errors occur. That they scored from it, just makes things worse. The situation wasn't helped by the CB ball watching & not getting close enough to the attacker.

With our defense as bad as it is, why would grayson take on board a left sided midfielder when we have Nunez and Sam (both havnt been given much of a chANCE THIS SEASON)

dunno, ask grayson. It doesnt stop pugh from being a midfielder though just because we have an issue with left back

I still state we should not have bothered with Pugh he isn't anything, he is not a good enough LB and he certainly isn't a decent LM replacement for Gradel. Yes Pugh would have been an okay substitute who is versatile but as a first choice he doesn't bring much to the table. We certainly can't claim he helped the defence out against Brighton can we.

I agree with you however i think he is the right type of player. I dont think he is good enough but i was always calling for Bradley Johnson to be played on the left because it offers better shape to the team. Again i dont think Johnson was good enough but the right type of player. We need someone that if White (or whoever playing LB) goes forward they will drop into the whole and cover so that we dont get hit on the counter as we often do

Pugh will bring balance to the team. If he plays lm white can double up with him and also snod can drift accross. Dont see pugh as a left back myself, its either centre or out on the left for me. Also white wont be exposed as much compared to when Nunez is playing there <ok>

Brighton came back from 2-0 because Grayson tried to sit on it.

White is by far the best option at left back. Anyone can take a poor throw in.

your normally not bad at judging a player's ability but i think your wrong. Your right anyone can take a poor throw-in but he still isnt good enough at defending. I think a bigger problem is replacing O'Dear though, Im really annoyed at bromby because he didnt take his chance and if he played well then O'Dear woulda been dropped instead of Bromby.

    With Gradel it'd have been 4-0 or 5-0 ;_;

well i dont think you can say that. He may have thrown a hissy fit and punched the ground and got sent off for yelling at the ref and then we may have been 3-0 down at half time.

One of the downsides of living in New Zealand is the little amount of football i get to watch, apart from highlights and an occasional game every few weeks. But people were raving about Aidan White about a month ago, whats gone wrong with him?

the same people are still raving about him. He is good at going forward although to me lacks the service and perhaps the confidence to run past people but i think he is poor defensively personally and makes a few poor throw- ins as well....

If he is good at going forward, but not great defensively, surely he should be put as a left winger instead? his defending must be better than most left wingers , and thus offer protection to whoever our fullback is.

yea i think he is a winger, however i dont think he is quite good enough yet. I see a lot of flaws with his game but maybe im just being harsh on the lad.

I actually agree with you on this one, so many times last year we where leading and the back end of the second half Becchio would be on the half way line and we would be sitting so deep its unbelievable, Cost us a lot of goals
