Gutierrez signing a new deal has shown what we at Newcastle have been severely lacking..Commitment.

No bullshit story about how "oh I will wait how we fair in the league" or "lets see who we bring in" . Granted some would argue he had a payrise, but you couldnt say other teams would not want him like Shola.

He is here at a great team who are flying at the moment, a pleasure to have him here.

A true gent a proffesional and hope he becomes a toon legend.

    All hail Jonas!

If I were that way inclined then I'd go for Cabaye.

Jonas would be second on my list though.

    OK.

    Maybe third after Santon.

    He'd be on the list.

Has he had a payrise. I thought he was one of the last big earners. Can't see fat boy giving anyone a pay rise

We signed him under Ashely so can't imagine he was a massive earner.

So did Coloccini though, I think early days Ashley wages were actually pretty high if the rumours of Colos are true.

they probably gave him a small pay rise, like 5k a week extra (which is still a ridiculous amount of money)

I gather Guti was on about 50-60k per week already, along with Colo he was supposedly one of the big-earners. He's probably took a small paycut to secure a long term deal, I doubt there's anyone out there wanting to pay him 80k per week like Liverpool were with Jose (who?) so he's probably quite content.

I get the impression he's genuinely happy here, long may that continue.

I reckon this. He'd have been on some inflated wage because of how he weaseled out of his contract at Mallorca as well
