Good Morning. It's Tuesday 16th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road.

Ayala refuses to play for Boro again

Boro centre back Daniel Ayala has played his last game for the Teeside club.

The 29yo, who is out of contract in a fortnight is refusing to participate in the final nine games, fearing he may get injured.

Middlesbrough offered the ex Liverpool star a short-term deal in order to cover them for the remainder of the season but Ayala has turned it down.

Both Leeds and Ayala are believed to be keen to strike up a deal to bring the 6ft 3 powerhouse to Elland Road in the Summer!

The Smoggies lie in 19th position, two points from the drop zone. Ayala represented Boro for 7 seasons with almost 200 appearances, and is by far their most experienced player!

Augustin has cost Leeds £82,000 per minute during his loan period

Jean-Kevin Augustin will become a Leeds player if they win promotion to the Premier League, German media outlet 'Kicker' have revealed.

Not only will the Whites have to part with 21m Euro's (18 million pounds) in the Summer, but they have already spent 4m Euro's to bring the 22yo to Elland Road on loan! That's £82,000 for every minute he has played!

Who hadn't done their homework on Augustin?

Why wasn't there an escape clause should Augustin have got injured or was unfit?

Why didn't we learn our lesson with Izzy Brown?

John Madeley, brother of late Leeds United legend Paul has written to the YEP to propose a unique way of honouring not only his sibling, but those who have sadly passed on in recent times :-

"It is with great sadness I write after the recent passing of Norman Hunter, Trevor Cherry and of course my brother Paul.

Paul played 725 games for Leeds United, his only club as he would not play for anyone but his beloved home town club, Norman 724 and Trevor 484 times for our team. Paul started his career at Elland Road one year after Norman and Paul Reaney made their debuts. They of course became great friends and colleagues.

I have been thinking how the club could recognise these great players.

The number of games played by Billy Bremner was 772, Jack Charlton 773, Paul Reaney 747 and Paul Madeley 725 - the most of any Leeds born player.

My idea is to honour these players and many others who have played more than a certain number of games is something that could be unique to Leeds United, to have a section in the West Stand as follows: Billy Bremner section 772 seats. Jack Charlton 773, Paul Reaney 747, Paul Madeley 725, Norman Hunter 724.

Of course you could go a lot further down the years to recognise Eric Hart, Willis Edwards, Jimmy Dunn, Grenville Hair.

Imagine all the seats in the Billy Bremner section with his name.

You could go even further by adding others like former chairman who the club wanted to honour. Sam Bolton, say 50 seats and the same number to Manny Cousins, Leslie Silver and my late friend Bill Fotherby and have a gold section for Don Revie, Syd Owen, Les Cocker, Bob English and Maurice Lindley, say 50 seats each.

I think I am correct in saying that no other club has done this.

    Best regards and many thanks

    John Madeley

    Good morning,

I wasn't sure about Ayala's attitude before but now I'm certain I don't want him here. If we wanted someone with a big ego we might as well have kept Jansson.

To be far to JKA, we haven't really seen him yet so we can't comment on how good he is. Obviously the injuries aren't a good sign but he could still turn out to be a bargain yet!

I think it's a great idea to honour players who made a certain amount of appearances for the club but not sure seating sections would be my choice. We should at the very least have an honours board for those who made over 500 appearances or scored over 100 goals.

Morning all. Thats a great idea naming sections of the stands after legends. Can we go one step further and name setons of the toilets after some of our greatest wastes of money. The Brolin suite, the Izzy suite and soon the Big Kev suite, I could use that one when over <ok>

Morning all. If an agreement was reached it looks as if we are stuck with Kev. He looked as if he could be useful but has managed to hide it since he got here. If he has any talent at all Marcelo will find it. (hopefully).

    Morning all.

Bielsa has said himself that if Big Kev was playing to his full potential then he's a £30-40 Million player. Bielsa obviously likes him but the injuries are a worry. I can't imagine the club would have signed the deal without some sort of get out clause due to injury etc. If we do and we get rid, then say goodbye to any further loan deals after signing Nketia and Kev in the same season and not using them.

Hopefully he does but some spent a season predicting Izzy would rip up this league. I tend to judge players on what I see them do rather on what they might or might not be capable of doing. Given what he has cost so far, he had better be a success

I didn't want Ayala before and I certainly don't want him now. I guess the saying side before self doesn't matter to players anymore.

    Morning All,

Pontus wasn't let go because he wasn't any good. He was let go because the negatives outweighed the positives.

A great idea to name sections of seating after legends.

Which of our competitors do Boro play and will the omission of Ayala give them an unfair advantage?

Millwall, Cardiff, Bristols - more likely to have a bearing on playoffs than autos if anything. <ok>

Season ticket holders who didn't choose the club 'bundle' (which included all 9 games live on LUTV) will not be able to watch live on LUTV for the games shown on Sky.

Not a problem personally as I have Sky but supporters choosing a pro rata refund may now wish they had chosen the 'bundle'.

All games not on Sky will be shown live on LUTV priced at £10 per match and available to all who wish to pay.

Good Morning to Matt and co froma dull Bardsey
Ayala on a free to me is a steal although I don't like his attitude to wards his club he clearly wants to come to Leeds.
He will bring competitiveness height and experience to the back 4.He will be a good teacher for Foyth when he comes.Clearly Bielsa feels we need more height in the middle
Big Kev I would run a mile he is not fit therefore we need not sign him

60, I don't like Ayalas attitude at all but if he signs then I will. See how principled I am?

Why would you want someone with that attitude in the squad?

Is he a good footballing centre back? I don't think so. Not good enough to play the way we play under Bielsa.

Don’t think we can blame anyone for not doing homework on Augustin. Injuries can happen to anyone at any time. He had a very minor injury when he joined, completely different to Izzy Brown.

I think the bigger problem is that under Bielsa, January signings just don’t seem an effective option. The signing, irrespective of fitness, will never be up to Bielsa’s standard, so he has to fit months of fitness work into a condensed time frame in order to be up to scratch early enough to join the team. It’s just not feasible and obviously risks exacerbating existing injuries or puts them at risk of soft tissue damage.

I don’t blame anyone for Augustin’s latest injury. Doesn’t seem like he has any kind of shocking medical history (admittedly taken at a cursory glance on transfermarkt and Wikipedia, so could well be mistaken!), just one of those things unfortunately.

Confident enough with Bamford and Roberts getting us over the line.

I can see both sides, not good him refusing to play, but Boro were going to cut his pay after June, so can see his point as well.

    Afternoon all,

Having a quiet laugh to myself re. this Ayala situation. I don't think the media or the great unwashed has predicted even one signing since Radz / Orta / Bielsa silenced the leaks.

I suppose there's a first time for everything, but I don't think this is it. Well, I hope not! :)
