Not sure why anyone is worried about the WTO report. There will be no direct link to PIF, a separate legal entity.

Any direct link will be to the Saudi state. The WTO are there to facilitate resolution. It is up to individual members to take legal action. If the WTO can act as a go between to resolve, they will arbitrate.

Resolution is in everyone's best interests.

No, I agree, the WTO report has - or should have - no bearing. I'm just referring to what a lot of folk seem to think, that pass or fail hinges on the release of this report. However, the report is already a day late, and besides which I can guarantee once it's released there'll still be no news.

Could there not be a delay until Newcastle are mathematically safe from relegation?

I'm trying to break the habit. Have managed to not comment for over a week, and the latest round of pathetic arguments with Miguel Delaney aren't worth a microsecond of attention, so it's getting easier to ignore it!

It's almost done - in your opinion? 'Cos in my opinion, it isn't.

    LOL!

I'll add this to my calendar of "events that don't precede a takeover".

    Just a question.
If Ashley could be taking £50-70m a season out of Newcastle, why would he sell? He doesn’t put money in, but takes. Seems crazy that a smart man would lose a golden egg machine like Newcastle?

If it is purely now down to this report being released tomorrow then it's fine and takeover completed.

If not, we may still be waiting weeks

Newcastle just need one more win. The sooner that win happens then the sooner the takeover perhaps? I just think that the way that matches are behind closed door and post covid blues etc is gonna throw up alot of weird scorelines. It will be a great leveller for those fighting down the bottom. There will be teams, including yourselves, that would normally think would be safe from relegation at this stage. I just feel that a club around your position have a bigger than usual chance to get dragged into the **** if they dont pick up an early win. As soon as the arabs know for certain they are buying a Premier League team then the final stipulation might get signed off.

Yeah, I think the report will implicate parts of Saudi, then there'll be a huge uproar, then there'll be no news, then it'll fade, then a takeover probably involving an entirely different party will happen.

If he continues running Newcastle any longer then somebody might pick up that golden egg machine and smash it off his skull!!!

It's feasible, and nobody knows the facts. I thought that get to PL checks stage the offer would need to have been made and accepted - Mike Ashley isn't accepting an offer with a relegation clause in it. So it may be as simple as you suggest, which would be hilarious given a) we've still got Bruce and could get relegated, and b) the forensic detail apportioned to the thus-far failed takeover.

I think it's a red herring personally. I think we should be more focused on why it is taking so long. It seems that the longer it goes on the more doubts begin to creep in.

so he isn’t that bad then. Once the loan is repaid, will he stop milking the cash cow?
