You just come across as someone with a 'look at me' agenda who loves nothing more than to attempt to 'put down' other posters who don't endorse your self love. I say 'attempt' because you rarely succeed and just make yourself look foolish in the process. Regarding the emboldened text, I don't think that you've thought that one through, otherwise you wouldn't have made such a stupid remark!
When the black lives matter protesters are holding up placards that state there is white supremacy. And when people like Anthony Joshua are asked to give a speech at the protests, telling black people to not buy from white peoples shops. They are 2 examples of 1000s I could use. Those kind of things create division. They create hate. They create violence.
For rascism to vanish from this world, everyone needs to embrace it. Good luck getting the Chinese and quite a few of the arabic nations to embrace this idea.
What annoys me is being lumped in with actual racists by default. This 'silence is violence' rubbish is insulting and, as you say, will turn people against the movement. I'd ask if the silence of black leaders and black role models is violence. Why aren't people like Stormzy telling black people to stop running gangs and stabbing other black people to death. Instead his lyrics feed the hatred and normalise words and phrases that give permission to idiots and their skewed sense of life. Where was he, and his £10 million donation, before the international headlines, you could argue it's a publicity stunt. And why is his statement so inherently racist, Stormzy has announced he will donate £10m to black British causes over the next 10 years: “Organisations, charities and movements that are committed to fighting racial inequality, justice reform and black empowerment within the UK.” So, fighting racial inequality but only if your black ... ... 'if you're a racially abused Asian your skin colour excludes you from my help, you'll have to ask your own kind, sorry'.
I think you will find the term 'black' in the context of any discussion on racism is not confined to the Afro-Caribbean communities
Sometimes but not always, it depends who's talking ... ... unless, of course, you're now the elected spokesman for Stormzy and the rest of the world.
This was not a thread about BLM, I started this because of the way history is being airbrushed away because it offends ME. S*** happened , let's start burning all the books you don't agree with and I hope to f*** you can get see where that got the world in the past. If we don't know about it how can we fix it?
Whatever the **** Stormzy says - 'racism' should include a wider umbrella to include ethnic minorities who have been mistreated or marginalised. for instance indigenous people in many countries
Ah, but the privilege of of the accepted narrative of history is in the hands of the victor. Lets take ancient Egypt please log in to view this image Hollywood (and our state issued textbooks in the UK -now thankfully revised) has portrayed this culture as one dominated by Caucasians, and 'other races' including Africans depicted as slaves. This is also racism in that those responsible for the media production have divulged there own racist assumptions, given key parts to white actors, ignored historical accuracy and have... Whitewashed history!
When I saw that there was ignored content, I knew that it was you. God knows why I bothered reading it. Back in your box you go.
DNA analysis has suggested that ancient Egyptians were more closely related to ancient Europeans and Anatolians than modern Egyptians. People have moved around so much over the course of prehistory that for much of the Middle East, Europe, the Mediterranean basin, and central Asia, its not really possible to be certain of what they looked like. But let's try and take a more balanced view of this. Cinematic depictions of historical events are stories based on real events. Their accurate portrayal of those events is often minimal. There are far more historically inaccurate elements in films of this type than what the actors look like. And let's remember, this is acting- the actors are representative of someone else in order to get the story across. This is the problem with issues such as this. One side says "I'm offended by this" and the other side says "well, I'm offended by this" and the two sides get further apart. The heart of the issue is that people of ethnic minorities feel that they are still treated unfairly and that should be being dealt with. Statues, films, television comedies, road names, history shouldn't come in to it. It should be about the here and now.

I hope @Kittenmittons isn’t being offended on behalf of my mates who live in Tyneside. They don’t feel oppressed at all living up here. One of them joked that I was more oppressed than them because my mental health condition restricts me from quite a few things, especially employment. I could never work as a train driver or as cabin crew on a plane, for example. I don’t feel oppressed btw, nobody is oppressed living in the north east in 2020. He had a point, though. Do you want to tell him, a black man, that he’s wrong and he is actually oppressed living in the UK?
In discussions with a number of people including 'black' people (of African origin), they would willingly accept that the term 'black' and their cause is inclusive of other persecuted races and ethnic minorities
What do you think about the inequality of black on black in places like Barbados and other places where the well off black people are worse than any white person to the poorer blacks.
This is about here and now - Egypt has been depicted as a Caucasian civilisation feeding into the narrative that one race dominated this early civilisation. The fact that Egyptology for want of a better, word came from a much earlier Nubian culture which was certainly black African. The Nubians also successfully invaded Egypt as did the Babylonians and other groups so there was no dominant race lauding over this entire historical era and the power structure were not exclusively one of Caucasion people in positions of wealth and power presiding over black slaves. This is wrong and it is relevant. Yes and I also agree that we ought not to get bogged down with arguments about statues and Fawlty Towers
I agree with you here ...I think? In that there are very fuzzy boundaries here - for example -in addition to statues etc. there are also buildings and street names that are labelled with the names of profiteers of child labour, other castles and estates inherited from bloody dictators and looters of invasions
