If PEH goes, I want us to go for Ronaldo Viera from Sampdoria. Mentioned him before, and not just for the name.
https://onefootball.com/en/news/wes...ve-away-from-southampton-this-summer-29962811 Says he wants to have a permanent move this summer. No more loans. Means we’re probably getting rid for free or thereabouts. Good thing there’s offers. Need to clear his salary.
One thing’s for sure. It’s going to be a weird looking squad next year with the upheaval we need in a (potentially) depressed market. Quite exciting though.
For once we may actually be looking at squad of players we want at the club, Without players just being here, but on loan to other to cover some of their wages. It would allow for signings that Ralph actually wants to bring in. Exciting.
We are still lacking that dominant leader with plenty of experience in the mould of a Jose Fonte, Bedders and Jack have done ok recently but either of them would benefit from the type of player I described beside them.
Wonder if Ralph will be interested to try and sign Orban this summer or whether that is hugely unlikely.
Signing RB's captain would cost a fair bit I would imagine but we do need to push the boat out a bit for a CB as I believe that it could potentally drastically change the performance of the team, it's the area that we have been weakest in since Jose and VVD left.
Given FF’s mental fragility, I’m not sure that a move to either would be in his own best interests, with the increased pressure that comes from playing for a team of their size, in a league that is far more competitive than the one he is thriving in. He seems happy to be at Celtic and I would be happy to take a smaller fee from them, rather than sacrifice his well-being by trying to force him into a deal that won’t suit him. Especially if we need him off the payroll, as he could easily refuse to move.
I too feel that he would be best served staying at Celtic at the cost of a smaller few, But it's better for soton not to subsidise his wages just off a contract he happily signed years ago.
Don't think he is good enough for either of those clubs but he would be on better pay for sure i'm not sure if he would get that much time on the pitch though.
I would much rather he went and played for Celtic but they can't afford his wages or the signing on fee so its irrelevant sadly. He will end up in London I expect, its all about the money
He might want to do a Mark Schwarzer and just be back up on good money. That might also suit any issues he may or may not still have.
Both clubs have had issues with their first choice keepers this season so he might fall lucky. personally I would chose Chelsea or Arsenal, at least they have a defence that affords some protection
Great headerer ? Really ? For someone his height, the number of times he loses the flight of the ball and it drops over his head amazes me. At set pieces (either defending or attacking) I`m never confident that he will be dominant and get his head on the ball. I`d also expect more than one goal in two seasons from a centre back his size. He`s not bad with the ball at his feet imo, but nowhere near as good as Stephens.
Agreed on the lack of goals but from what i have seen he wins far more headers then our other defenders. Never how sure on how reliable these stats are but seems to suggest he has a far greater heading percentage then Stephens or Bedanrek. (This most likely does not take into consideration the high balls he misjudges haha) Bedanrek Aeiral battels won 175 Aerial battles lost 116 Stephens Aeiral battels won 168 Aerial battles lost 169 Verstergard Aeiral battels won 128 Aerial battles lost 71 Also Vestergard has these stats over 37 games compared to Bendareks 57 (This is not me knocking bednarek) just think Verstergard is a solid player who will only get better with game time. https://www.premierleague.com/players/20109/Jannik-Vestergaard/stats
