Keep paying your council tax folks. because those councillors need their pensions topped up. I'm sure they are doing 'all they can' to secure that Siemens contract. Bunch of parochial ****ers, stuck in a timewarp.
Breaking News... Siemen's plant is off after Council refuse planning permission. Some bloke apparently walks his dog round that area - rendering it unsuitable for commercial development.
What a bunch of clowns the city council are. The Allam's plans for the area would only have benefited the city and the club with new job opportunities, keeping the community fit and healthy and a chance to keep any wayward kids off the streets causing trouble. Hull City's nationwide profile would be boosted with the introduction of modern facilities for training and an academy to attract and create successful players, strengthening the local economy further. The council wants to promote the city as an up and coming place, but things like this will keep us in the shadow of places like Leeds, Sheffield and Liverpool. I really do despair with the powers that be.
Just had to lay down for half an hour......cannot beleive what is going on. Nowhere else in the country would this be happening. Bet they cock-up Siemens project, now they are on a roll.
Does anyone have the e-mail address for the department of the council responsible for this arrogant decision? I think everyone with strong feelings should innundate that address until they come out and explain why they have lied about the referendum.
****ing council Lets not sell our stadium, lets allow hull city to move to melton, let the attendances drop due to lack of people able to travel, lets be left with a white elephant getting 11,000 egg chasers in, but hey at least those who cant go to Melton can spend one night a year trapsing round a delapadated fairground, get fleeced for 50 quid and do bugger all. ****ing great thinking Hull City Council
I would hazzard a good guess that the Allems were relying on peer pressure to push through what amounts to an absolute miserly offer for the ground, surrounding area, costello, ideal standard and cott training ground. If someone offerered me £20m for my £43+m investment i tell em to go **** themselves too!.
As I live east of Hull, we travel by car, a little further won't make too much difference. What I find truly sad is that Hull City Council continues to be run by 1950's mindset half wits. I think they genuinely believe they represent the city on the 30% or so votes they receive on disgustingly low electoral turn outs. The only change they can manage is on the numerous unnecessary traffic lights installed to prevent it's citizens being able to travel smoothly across the city. Final rant - will the council reclaim the cost of the statue that was stolen and sold for scrap from the profits they Showman make during the fair.
Probably not enough time before the Cardiff game but surely if we could organise a protest walk from Guildhall to the KC on match day. Get all sports fans from the region and all people pro village in on it we could try and press for a referendum or something. Or could get people in their sports colours to prostest at Hull Fair opening night, stand at the Walton Street and Spring Bank entrances making it hard for people to get past. Doesn't sound much but I can't believe the council are going to let an opportunity like this pass Hull by. It's ridiculous!
If you do email them, don't forget to add the attached link; http://www.thisishullandeastriding....-8211-Labour/story-11975913-detail/story.html
Part of me thinks the council is still just testing the water or playing for more bargaining power. As has been mentioned, it doesn't stack up with only hull fair in mind. Out of curiosity and considering I don't live in hull but is the council still quite asset rich or has it sold off significant portions of land etc over the past few years? If they have few assets remaining they might be keen to retain the KC and surrounding land to protect the long term vitality and viability of the council. The thing that reassures me is that the council aren't thick and know the value of having a professional football club - a well established championship one at that - in the city. Or perhaps I'm being too kind on the council?
It'll be the estates or asset management section. Although council members will still have the final say.
I for one hope the Allam's do move to Melton, as for the old chestnut of getting there I am sure transport will be provided from Hull. I think that the council may have shot themselves in the foot and that the regeneration officer is just as dumb as the idiot in East Riding council.
It's interesting listening to the Hull FC fans views on the situation. They seem to congratulating the council on the decision which is intriguing.
