I couldn’t agree more with this. The biggest difference for me between Asian community and the black one is work ethic. I’ve never ever come across an Asian family without a tremendous work ethic. They all work their bollocks off and generally do well for themselves. They have the drive to better themselves. Which is something I don’t really see in the black community. Though I have a very narrow viewpoint as there isn’t a very big black community where I live but a lot of Asians. Whether they’re Muslim Sikh or Hindu. I just don’t witness racism round here. Other than the odd knuckle dragging white scum.

Way I see it is that it’s an excuse to smash up JD Sports and get themselves some new sneakers...

    Well said mate <applause>

I love reading/hearing other people's opinion. As regards blacks, as I highlighted previously, there are some high profile black people, for want of better wording, that have also committed atrocities, on other non whites. Idi Amin, he has a statue and a museum. Robert Mugabe, I accept some of that was due to problems with Whites, but none the less, crimes committed against humanity just the same. And then the biggy Nelson Mandela with ANC and his wife, not knocking the guy, just saying, hang on, while we are all pointing fingers. Obviously I don't dodge reality either of Churchill, but let's just remember in a Europe led by Hitler, he and the Nazi's saw blacks as an inferior race. Those blacks protesting in London, would not have been able to without the leadership of Churchill, although, some historians may well disagree with my less educated argument.

Yes black lives do matter, but don't look down and spit on my views either, and scrawl them with graffiti. Vandalism and riots may send a message, but it loses strength to, and instead of gaining support, you create opposition (see Poole), that has absolutely nothing to do with equality, as the memory of George Floyd gets used by a few for ulterior means, including by the right wing.

Went to secondary school and sixth form in the Bolton borough and my first job was as an apprentice in a cotton mill (cliche much!).

Asian communities have been in these environments since forever, I've never seen them as any different whatsoever so view it as same as Sweats, I've not noticed racism in that direction at all.

Nor do I ever see the same 'chip on the shoulder' that @Spurlock is referring to.

Dont really know where I'm going with this, other than probably just concurring with Sweats.

Will be interesting to say the least how today pans out. Will the protests just carry on every weekend or will the point be made finally this weekend?

Can only see some genuine unrest being the conclusion if the protests carry on weekly.

Although I do not disagree with your views, I have known within Sikh families some prejudice towards marrying or even having relationships with other faiths. This leads to women, not disclosing their new partners to their parents (generally elders). In some cases even break up with that partner to avoid upsetting the parents. I can imagine if I had similar feelings towards other faiths, as a supposed Christian man, I would be looked on less favourably. Even called discrimative maybe. Obviously I stand to be corrected.

I’m just looking forward to some good old violence today. I can’t put my phone down keep updating fb to see if anything is happening. The thugs are out round here as well protecting the war memorial at the cathedral.

I just don’t know what they are protesting about here . It’s not like we have a police brutality problem. Yes this country has done a few bad things over the years but so has everyone. We can’t just delete history and as a white person be plagued by guilt over something that happened hundred of years ago. I mean how far do we go back re slavery? I’m pretty certain all parts of the world were at it and something I read was that white people were sold into slavery as well. Black tribes sold their own into slavery to make money? I’m not trying to justify or excuse anything but what is the end goal? We tear down a few statues and give blacks more benefits? Have reverse racism so they get jobs over white people? Repossess business so they can be given to them what? I just don’t get it. The problem is an American one where perhaps things are stacked against black people. I really don’t know as have never been there. From what I see over here it’s not a racial thing it’sva poverty issue.

The Sikhs are massive racists. They hate Muslims and vice versa. Lad I worked with dated a Sikh girl. He used to have to drop her off half a mile away from her house. Once her brothers spotted the drop off and he got his arse handed to him by about 6 giant Sikh lads. We used to go to a bar on broad street in brum where the Sikh birds used to hang out. Sure it was called the parrot. Used to get death stares off the men for daring to eye up the Sikh birds.

I'm not going to get into all the other stuff you said, but this is the bit that interests me, and yes, it is bang on the money, poverty, a very vocal black protestor said exactly the same yesterday in her tree of four things, poverty that leads to crime, then leads to violence. But I also came from poverty, I literally had to fight for and work my nuts off, to get where I am today, and climbing that ladder. Although, I do appreciate it's more difficult for a non white to climb the ladder out of poverty or at least into the top jobs. However, let's remember, we seem to be forgetting the virus, and there are going to be a lot of unemployed white people, also on that bottom rung of the ladder.

I know how it works, you just was a bit more blunt about it and a bit more extreme than my experiences.

I hasten to add from my experiences, I didn't see it as out and out racism, I just saw it as an elder view, much like whites used to have about sex outside of wedlock, although from a totally different perspective.

The only people I see in poverty are white. The mrs used to work in schools with special needs kids and ones who were just not as bright . She had kids ready for high school who couldn’t write. They were in absolute poverty and their parents didn’t give a **** about them and were either druggies or alcoholics and from broken homes.

The issue is you can’t just throw money at people and expect it to solve things. Education is what can change things but if kids aren’t given the right support then they have no chance. People need to have drive to better and want to better and improve their lives. You can’t make people want to. Some will be quite happy on benefits that’s not aimed at any race either just society in general.

    Bollocks. Money changes everything.

Invest in people, and by and large they'll repay that investment. Deprive people of resources and opportunities, and they'll get angry, especially if they are young men.

Bollocks. Some people will just take the money and buy more booze and drugs. It’s easy. Why should they work it they don’t have to.

I think the word some in front of people means he wasn't stereotyping at all.

There are some who won't use the money to better themselves. Not all.

Right so you are telling me that by giving unemployed people an extra grand a month for sitting on their arse will solve everything? I don’t buy it. There will always be people who did badly at school and aren’t capable of earning or holding down decent jobs so is easier to be involved in crime where their earnings are higher than what they would get for a **** job on minimum wage. Not all and I’m trying not to stereo type anyone. There will always be lazy ****ers.

Some will, including quite a few rich kids. The difference being that when rich kids **** up, their families can afford to bail them out.

What problems can be solved without spending money on them? Not ****ing many.

    It's just an observation.

That's the problem with this forum, you make a comment that doesn't sit with someone else's view and you are instantly branded as something.
