What does everyone make of reports that fans should not expect a spending spree?

personally I think it's due to all the people thinking they can sign the likes of mbappe etc

the reality is they can spend what the club he afford which will be enough of a spending spree in my eyes .. 150 million is apparently a realistic figure... given we've spent about 5 million average per season I would argue that's a massive spending spree for nufc.

Ah, good morning all - welcome to another day of random rants, little speculation and - of course - no news.

When City got took over, they bought Robinho. It was marquee for them, but in reality he was a Madrid cast off. VERY similar to us/Coutinho. There will be a steady spending curve. Bear in mind this whole "they won't spend" comes from McLaren's throwaway comment of "they might spend less than Mike".

I thought it was from a Saudi source yesterday?

nonetheless imo 150 to 200 million spent well could see is shoot straight into the top 8 no problem.
we aren't as bad as people make out .

Yeah, another landmark date to add to the list, alongside project restart, Poch's release clause, filed accounts, various planes and helicopters, Ramadam/Eid, But, sure, WTO report is definitely the one.

Anyone know the end date for Staveley's Barclays case? We can add that to the list with season end, next season beginning, transfer window opening, and so on.

Perfect, just need some filler for Oct/Nov then we can use Christmas break, New Year, transfer window (2), safety from relegation and season end. We should be able to get a 'Newcastle takeover calendar' printed, so everyone can have fun looking at the next landmark date, then cross them off as we sail past with no news.

Could even make the calendar wipe-clean so we can repeat every year.
