i'm just waiting for them to take down eastenders cause the brown and black families were bullied in some of the episodes. That will really send the public screaming
I agree. He is remembered for starting the Scout movement. Whatever his beliefs were back then, that doesn’t impinge of what he’s actually been commemorated for. There’s a world of difference between him and a bloke who made his fortune trading in slaves and who threw thousands into the sea.

I've discussed this one before. It's a shame, he didn't face up to his condition, rather than hide behind the song. Something I have tried to promote the knowledge of is that he suffered imho with a skin condition, called vitiligo. It was suggested this was part the reason, he wore the glove, the hands are normally the first part of the visible body, that it can be seen on. Whether that be true, regardless, I suggest he couldn't face up to his condition and albeit in a seperate incident, he suffered injuries re Pepsi. I still believe the reason he attempted to turn himself white - which I believe he did, was to hide the condition and let thousands of sufferers down; please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Amazing for such a famous artist, this only received 116k hits, unless there is another version out there...
Yeah, it's why I asked again I'm not trying to single you out mate, I'm just interested in why some people say they support ending racial discrimination, but then go mental when people take to the streets to promote that cause. People have tried to oppose racism in a peaceful way, through the courts and judiciary, through trying to reform education and institutions, but very little of actual meaning ever gets changed. So it seems the only way to get heard is to take to the streets and protest. It's been that way down the generations, from people getting the vote, the civil rights movement, labour laws, women's vote, and on it goes. When oppressed people aren't listened to, they rise up and fight.
I suppose the problem here is wanton vandalism, without a thought of how other people may perceive something, those others it don't make them racist, or even suggest they dont' support a cause, just because they challenge aspects of it. It's a bit like me defacing Lorraine Motel, because some would suggest MLK's treatment of women was appalling. However, others would rightly highlight his work for the Civil Rights Movement. Maybe we should denounce Mandela because of the actions of his wife. Just because you hold a protest for Black Lives Matter, does not mean that all your protest actions are justified, or that people shouldn't disagree with you on aspects of vandalism. Well unless we are trying to silence the rights of some minority views, which is where all this problem began.
