It's more to do with overall ambition. If we spend £10m+ on a training facility - and Ashley wouldn't spend £3m - alongside revamping the whole backroom, players will want to come. They don't need to quite be Man City, but just some level of ambition would be enough. There's a reason players like Soumare would rather hold out to sit on Liverpool's bench than be focal in NUFC. There's enough players out there to build a fantastic team without headliners - Leicester have proven this repeatedly. Spurs got where they are by investing smartly. Nobody wants to copy Glazier's model of overpaying for everybody. Even Liverpool have been smart which allowed them to go spend £70m on both Alisson and Van Dijk.
there's a false narrative that he spend his money . it's all nonsense.. they make a snap judgement based in what they think and haven't bothered to look into matters to make a respectable judgement. Ashley is untouchable !
