Definitely. I used to hate it when the news would talk about Islamic terrorists. Just call them terrorists, for ****'s sake.

Watched it a week or two back, and its an bloody awful film, on every level, caricatures included. However this harping on constantly about slavery is wearing a bit thin. No one denies it was a shocking episode, as were many in the past and the present for that matter. I personally think that statues are an issue and I would replace or remove most of them. But what next? docklands, stately homes, listed buildings as many of them were built with the proceeds of the sugar trade and its dependence on slave labour. Bigotry comes in all colours, and I expect this from politicians, but not from historians like David Olusoga, who is treading a fine line, our Boris is the only beneficiary of this distraction imo.

Exactly mate. That’s how you breed hate.

All races have terrorists, all have rapists, murderers crooks and conmen.

The vast majority are law abiding, a large percentage of those are also morally decent.

We are people. That’s all we are.

Let’s be frank, the vast majority of us are ‘slaves’.

I work for a huge multi national corporation and for all I’m well paid, I get a tiny percentage of what I make that corporation.

Isn’t that just ‘nice slavery’? If you don’t work for yourself, then technically and by definition you are somebody’s slave.

You know what though, I’m thankful for the life I have due to employment. I spend 40 hours a week doing things I don’t always want to do so I can have a better life.

In our own country the crime is disproportionate to the indiginus white majority, as the largest percentage by far are black who commit the crime and thus are in prison. 90 percent of the London stabbings and death are committed by the black community upon the black community. They blame unequal opportunity, but the Cecil Rhodes foundation puts only black students through universities there is no outlets like that for underprivileged whites Yet they still want to pull his statue down when they haven't got a clue how many hundreds of students have benefitted from this program. Put your own house in order before you can take care of others. Thousands of migrants travel through all the countries of Europe to reach our shores for its benefits and human rights. Some stupid nackers telling us we must do this or that, are the same ones who escape the tribal racism of their own countries then try and stick the blame on us. And before any gobshite calls me a racist my own wife is African born and raised and every day somewhere in Africa they are killing themselves through tribal racism.

I have great empathy with the tolerant majority and truly hope and believe that the future rests with them, whatever their colour.

Mate i think everyone of BLM should be forced to spend 6 months in an African country as an impoverished local to see what real racism is . or India or China or all of the Arab countries, they would be crying constantly to come back, these ****s don't know how lucky they are.

I can’t agree with that mate. Just because it’s worse elsewhere doesn’t mean that makes it ok.

On that basis, should I have to go and live in white South Africa or in a run down part of Estonia or Romania to appreciate the wonder of being British?

It doesn’t fit that mate. I seen the work you out in to help them lads in Nigeria getting shirts etc, so I know you have a balance.

try being white in south africa, estonia and romania dont count, you missed the plot, Because of what happened in another country people here break the lockdown rules, the protesters always turn to rioting and looting why, BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY HAVE DONE FIRMS ARE MOVING OUT TO OTHER REGIONS THOUSANDS OF JOBS LOST NEVER TO RETURN MAYORS WANT MILLIONS IN FEDERAL MONEY BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T STOP IT. Don't get me wrong what happened to Floyd deserved a massive sentence. but then have a look on youtube at Americas hottest show PD. and see which people commit the lions share of crime, no one cares from certain backgrounds how many cops are killed yearly by criminals

Ban Gone with the wind? Is Django Unchained banned then? Or Pulp fiction (more N words than a NWA concert!) or just about any other Tarantino movie?

I understand what you’re saying mate, but the crime figures in the US are directly related to the lack of opportunity that certain factors (not just black people, there’s a huge gap related to wealth in education there as well).

Unless they level the academic and educational playing field it will never change, it’s ‘human grass roots’ at is finest.

The country is ran by a wealthy few with one of, probably the most unbalanced gap between the top and bottom on the planet. It’s a rich country with mass poverty and unemployment. What happens in the US happens worldwide, and if the fact that the US is so powerful and newsworthy benefits other countries and the worldwide population then that is absolutely positive.

If you look at it in to simplistic a way, you could say ‘why is crime higher in Pennywell than Seaburn?’.

Now that’s not racist, but it’s the same basic principle. Folk don’t have a level playing field. Brilliant people can be born into poverty and never have the opportunity to reach their potential, and imbeciles can be born wealthy and end up running the US and UK.

    Education and opportunity is everything.

Attitude to education is also important. In some of the poorer communities, both here and elsewhere, education is not seen as important. British schools were reopened after lockdown to protect 'vulnerable children' (which in a large part means kids from 'poorer' backgrounds) yet its middle class schools that have seen the greater uptake and schools in what are considered impoverished areas only have a handful of kids back.

Personally I would like to see the statue of the 3rd Marquis of Londonderry removed from Durham's market square!
