Not only did Tory MP Simon Clarke break Godwin's Law when trying to make a point,k he did so in a manner that says he;s not very good with either 20th century history or geography...

First tweet of a thread that won't sit well with those who think licking the stormtrooper's boots will help

Or, for those of you with a little less time on their hands...

So, the OECD says that the UK will suffer the worst economic downturn of any major economy.

    THE WORST.

This dickhead administration's response..."Others are suffering too..."

Yes, you twats...but we're suffering the most and when we end up in Lockdown II, as we surely must, and we get the bones of our economy dragged through Brexit, we're all going to be eating chlorinated chicken for a very, very long time into the future.

I doubt most of us will live long enough to draw our state pensions.

Just a quick reminder that around 420 Americans die from Salmonella poisoning every year.
The UK appears to have had 1 in the last 15 years.

Yes but at least we're free to choose whether to buy this poisonous chicken or not...or we would be if we hadn't agreed not to label the ****ing stuff as such.

    We're so ****ed.

But we knew what we were voting for and the Government didn't lie to everyone about this happening.
No, hang on, that's the opposite of what happened. Oops.

Two obviously non-white people and they're both pretty much as far away from Trump as possible! <laugh>
To be fair to Trump, I doubt he'd have many minority candidates wanting to work with him. The massive twat.

Leopold was an enormous ****bag, for anyone unfamiliar with the twat. That's even by the standards of the time.
He nicked a country, then enslaved, tortured and murdered a lot of the population.
I don't mean that he did the usual and took over an African state for his country, either.
He claimed the Congo Free State for himself and killed around 10m people, around half the population. A true monster.

The trouble with removing statues is that it asks more questions than it answers. And where does it stop?

It's also implied that if you don't want a certain statue removed then you must agree with what the person commemorated by the statue stood for.

And who decides which statues remain and which are removed. What happens if people want to keep a statue that others don't.

    So many questions.

The issue with the Colton statue is there had been petitions to remove it for a decade, but the council - which is (obviously...) Tory and contains this charming fellow....

...said that, okay, they'd listened to the complaints and would change the plaque to something more reflective

They said that at least six years ago, and did **** all since
