Right well I have calmed down after the game last night and I will offer my assessment of the guys who played. All scores out of 10 Mignolet - Dodgy kicking early doors but looked reasonably assured afterwards and cant be blamed for either goal (6) O'Shea - Got destroyed for the 2nd goal and didnt get involved particularly going forward (4) Bramble - Very poor last night was nowhere to be seen for either of the goals and was dodgy at best the rest of the game (2) Brown - Defended well once again the best performer in the back line but was outjumped for the 2nd goal so marked down for that (6) Richardson - Gave the ball away every time he had it and looked poor defensively. Goal slightly saved his rating (2) Elmo - Showed a bit of determination and got into a couple of decent positions but lacked a killer instinct and a final ball (5) Vaughan - Spread the ball nicely at times and tried to tick us over but went missing between 20-80 mins (4) Gardner - See Above (4) Larsson - Similar to Elmo ran around a fair bit but lacked quality on the ball and was destroyed for the first goal (4) Sessegnon - First touch was always poor and had about 4 shots none of which remained in the ground, Also made Bendtner look like a **** as he never once ran in behind when Bendtner came short. I honestly think he was swapped with Milton Nunez before kick off. We know he can do a lot better (1) Bendtner - Few good touchs and a decent effort in the first half but is still embedded in the Arsenal way of always coming deep (6) Subs Whickham - Tried to get involved won a couple of headers and maybe could have scored one of them but as it was his first touch was difficult (6) Ji - I saw him come on but that is all wont mark him too harshly as he was only given 20 mins (4) Bruce - Cant blame the guy for keeping the same team after our victory last week but he simply can not change a game for the life of him. Plan B is to stick with Plan A for another 20 mins, Plan C is to stick with Plan A for another 10 mins and plan D is to throw as many strikers on as we have on the bench. (3) All in all very disappointing as it was a game we should have definately got something from in my eyes. I would have been unhappy with a point if im honest so to lose is absolutely gutting. Our players didnt step up to the plate and were outfought, outbattled and outmanouverd by in my eyes a team of 2nd - 3rd rate footballers. Very worrying as last night was reminiscent of the 15/19 point seasons.
42/110, some may say your being on the generous side for the first x1.... Nice break down by the way.
Mignolet 4 oshea 4 bramble 4 brown 7 (just the 2nd goal I could criticize for) rico 4 (3 if he hasn't scored the goal) elmo 5 (put the only good ball in all night) vaughan 5 (tried hard, but everyone else was flat) gardner 4 (game past him by, missed a golden chance) larsson 4 (very poor) sess 2 ( invisible man) bendtner 5
Mig 6 O'shea 6 Bramble 3 Brown 7 Ricco 3 Elmo 6 Gardner 6 Vaughan 6 Larsson 5 Sessegon 0 (can we give minus numbers?) Bendtner 7
What a pathetic performance that was last night. Rico is not a left back. He should be behind the strikers as he was the only one able to hit the target with any conviction last night. We cannot afford Bramble. He lost concentration for the first goal and he is not a premiership player. The midfield was poor, Vaughan at least made an effort. Bendtner must wonder what planet he has landed on. Poor service all night but his touch was OK and at least he did not give the ball away. He should have put that chance away but credit to their keeper. Sess was really poor and should have been off early. As for Bruce, I think he is drinking in the last chance saloon. Sticking with a winning team is fine but it was obvious after 20 minutes that is was not working and Norwich were sqeezing the play. In games like this, wingers really come into their own. We do not have a left back or winger. What a dismal performance. Saturday is make or break now. Anything less than 3 points is a shambles.
Spot on about the wingers pal. For me we should have spent the Henderson money on Nzogbia. Dont really care about his potential wages he was a player we needed in order to progress our club instead we are stuck with yet more gutless displays like last night.
Agree with most except Vaughn and Elmo. Think you have their scores the wrong way around. Elmo was really bad, he had one decent cross the entire game and that was it, thought Vaughan was tidy and the only one of them not constantly giving the ball away.
2/10 across the board apart from: Sess 0; Elmo 1 Richardson 1 Bramble 1. Bendtner our Motm 6 Vaughan 5 Wickham 5 Ji 4
As I have said all along and will repeat myself YET AGAIN!!! I can run faster than Larsson - why we signed him I will never know - oh hang on a minute, he was a free transfer. HE IS SH1T. Sess - I cannot understand what a lot of mackems see in him. Last night he was a disgrace, should have been taken off after 20 mins - TRULY SHOCKING PERFORMANCE, and he should be fined the maximum. Both of these players need to be dropped, Larsson for good and Sess after he has had a couple of games in the reserves. Bart
The only thing I will mark them with is a big stick. Then I'll beat Bruce to death with Short's wallet. For I am SORELY vexed.
Lol, nice one Sid, my faith in this board is coming back with posts like that, was ready to give up on it last night if I am honest.
