Depends what history channel you watch........the old out of date theory was they were built by slaves....... More modern scholars will tell you that it was a passage to the afterlife for Egyptian people if they helped build a monument to thy king queen with beard and thy passage from earth to afterlife........ The book of the dead. Graham hancock also questions the time that the building of them takes place which predates the current narrative that they are about 5 thousand years old...... His theory looks at them being much older.

Yeah as there’s literally no one suggesting tearing down buildings ffs. Pretending to not understand the difference between a statue that is by definition glorifying the life of a slave trader and buildings appears to rife amongst a certain segment at present. Amazing.
