Woodgate got as much of his head on the ball as he could, the ball in from Larsson was perfect. If woodgate doesn't get his head on the ball Bendtner knocks it in. Genuine goal, no luck involved. Keeper error? ball comes through a crwod of players and had hardly any time to react, hardly a keeper error. Genuine goal. Deflection? and if it hadn't taken a defelction, what's to say it wasn't going to fly in the top left hand corner? 50% lucky.

We don't need a battler. We need Vaughan and Gardner to continue to do what they're doing, break them up and we'll go backwards. They need Bendtner and Wickham ahead of them and then they'll be terrific. As will Larsson and Elmo. Sessegnon is not a striker, but he was playing the free role behind a striker, are people telling me that's not his position? come the **** off it, do not excuse Sessegnon's performance yesterday. Hasn't anyone looked at his technique when he strikes a ball? the fact he can't see a pass unless the players are right around him?

How many people seen the Chelsea game? You all seem to have forgot how poor Sessegnon was on the left in that game. Words can't describe.

Syd, seriously, Richardson in that position? Richardson at all? Larsson on the right? O'Shea at left back? Dropping Gardner? Elmo at full back? That team is absolutely terrible. What were you thinking?

So who's to say Bendtner wouldn't have headed it over the bar/been saved/missed it all together? Of course it was LUCK. It was an own goal.
Of course it wasn't going in the top left. IT WAS GOING ALONG THE GROUND.
Keeper had it and let it squirm under his body.

I agree at home Vaughan/ Gardner. But away from home Sunderland are Sh*t and the very VERY best we are going to get is a draw. To get that we need a battler. The football is not happening (apart from A p*ss poor Stoke)under Bruce it will not happen.
For 30 odd years I have watched Sunderland and I would say (not facts obviously) for our wins 80% are battling performances and 20% are good footballing performances.
We rarely ever play free flowing football no matter who the manager is. Just look at our sky matches. (Or lack of) Does it tell you something? It certainly does me.

Football is not happening? Prior to Stoke it wasn't, but against Stoke we were terrific. Into the Norwich game we had huge possession in the first half. We were very comfortable on the ball but we WERE PLAYING WITH 10 MEN. Drop Sessegnon. Stick with the rest (can drop Bramble and Richardson, like). Play well. Win games. We dominated possession away from home playing with 10 men! COME ON PEOPLE!?

As for the stoke goals, we're both being pedantic. The fact is there was an element of luck in some of the goals but that's not to say we wouldn't have scored the goals anyhow. We were terrific against Stoke and could have been terrific against Norwich ig Sessegnon hadn't sabotaged us.
