Alex Haley ... Roots ... was ground breaking in it's time ... and if you didn't well up with tears you had to be ****ing inhuman.
Let’s go down the river and try and fish out an 8ft bronze with a washing line and a pole lads! He’s OUR slave trader, the bastards! It’s just been on BBC news lol.
Racists on twitter in meltdown because Yorkshire tea and Pg tips have told racist to find themselves something else to drink. Love it.
Yeah history does matter. Which is why at some point in the future the Major of Bristol has vowed to retrieve the statue and install it in a local museum hopefully in its broken and graffitied state, as a reminder of the day the Bristol people made history by removing a statue of a slave trader.
I don't know about anyone else, but I've certainly learnt far more about the slave trade in Bristol from recent events than I ever would've done from a statue and a plaque proclaiming he was a great man.
What have PG tips and Yorkshire tea got to do with slavery? Or is it just the fact that it’s tea enough for your latest tenuous apologist bullshit?
