No mate it's not different at all. You care about a bit of politics and somehow you crying about it is different to people crying about other politics. It's not.

So instead of being a pussy about it, just accept you are a politics **** <ok>

I love the responses to things like that. Geoff Barton nails it:

He was even beaten by a man dressed as a dolphin <laugh>

Honestly, I'm not sure how he'd be supposed to respond to this if he did.

I've not read back, too many pages since I've last looked.

Earlier in the thread I criticised Priti Patel, and I feel rightly so.

However, I will support her comments today, in regards to attacks on police officers, even if I couldn't give a toss about the statue. I've seen footage, that had fook all to do with respects or the right to protest regarding the murder of George Floyd. It was utterly mindless attacks on the police, a small minority of young thugs who ruin a great and peaceful protest by the many. We are not the USA, our police have been very restrained, even evident in Bristol, when there was no intervention over the harbouring of a statue. However, this restraint, can also send a wrong and weak signal to some, that the cops are there for a kicking, well they are not. You have the right to protest, you have the right to be angry, you do not have the right to torment those that stand back and let you exercise those rights, you will be held to account, the same as I expect coppers to be held to account, that's how the very fabric of our society maintains its law and order.

There’s nothing to defend, he was just stating the abhorrent attack on our cherished monuments should be stopped and quickly. If I did that here I’d be staying at the Bangkok Hilton for years on end.

Whatever you think, it shows a lack of respect which seems to be a major problem in Britain right now.

If we are discussing the statue in Bristol, I don't know what all the fuss is about, it's now sitting at the bottom of the harbour, it's a lump of metal mate, if protestors are taking their anger out on that, they aint taking it out on coppers, so for me, it's no big deal and was a waste of tax payers money to keep it anyway.

So it turns out the protest in Plymouth was never going anywhere near this memorial and didn’t.

    Oh and this.
