As in the title, this is a post from 666&Elmondy formaly of 606 fame now resides at JA606....i found it interesting!!! Comparison with end of September last year: Played 9 Won 4 Drawn 2 Lost 3 Points 14 Position 10th Two of those losses included the Barnsley rout and the Preston embarrassment. This year we have Played 8 Won 3 Drawn 2 Lost 3. Points 11 Position 9th Our 9th game is Portsmouth at home this weekend. We win that and we are doing exactly as we did last season - 14 points but probably higher up the table. Thankfully without any 6-4 reverses at home. The only time we have embarrassed ourselves this season has been the Southampton match, first game of the season. We were top two by Christmas last year, from exactly the position we are curently in. Why do people think that things have got worse? Or that they have got so bad that SG must go? I think the only thing that has really got worse is the fans' expectations. It's embarrassing that when we play well but just happen to fall short in terms of result that so many lunatics jump on bandwagons and start pontificating about how bad things are. Fact is, they're not. The only bad time was the Soton match. The rest have been a steady build to better, and to giving us a platform from which we can make things happen. Not saying they will, but we have as much a chance as anyone else. Some people need to calm down. It's a marathon not a sprint. EDIT: Last year after 9 games: FOR 15 AGAINST 16 Last year after 8 games: FOR 11 AGAINST 10 This year after 8 games: FOR 16 AGAINST 15 It's points on the board that get you up the table and we are neck and neck with last year.

I still think a CB needs bringing in, but also someone like Dom Matteo to help with some defending coaching/ideas or even just to point out if needed, our current centre backs are crap and to ship them out
O'Brien must be shot to ****....i thought him n Paddy would be sound together...but Paddy lost the spark & o'brien is just dog dick!!! There's always a team that makes a late run into the playoffs in this league. Reading did it last season, Blackpool did it the season before. If we're top 10 in the new year and we're still close to the top 6, I'll be happy. I don't think that the current squad is good enough to get promotion (mainly the defence), unless we make a few signings in January. If we did actually bring in some quality in January unlike last season's loan signings, then we have every chance of promotion. Being top 2 in September means nothing.
Problem is, looks like Bannan as well as being a stroppy little boy, is a quality player but Grayson couldn't see this. I'm not a Grayson basher, just a bit frustrated with things at the moment
I honestly would not take Sol Campbell. I have never seen a player turn into such a bad player over night from one of the better defenders in the prem to all of a sudden the worse defender in all leagues in the UK literally overnight. I would take Kilgallon or someone along those lines as a replacement for O'Dear. I woulda said play Kissa and Bromby for the pompey game but bromby actually managed to play worse than O'Dear which means he gets another game...
we need someone who can organise the defense and the players infront of them, not sure we have that at the moment. i guess the only one we did have was Naylor, but age was against him. Kissa is a bit like that, but he's had it hard with such a long lay off. maybe Kissa and Lees at the back Conns on the right?
