Before last night it was easy, same again for a team that showed quality, fight and flair, then, well, you all know what.

So what do we do now, I know the temptation from many, Bruce the clown, Bruce the inept, Bruce this and Bruce that.

However, assuming Bruce is still with us, I think he will be, what team?

We can say, I think, it will be..

    MIG

    OSHEA..BROWN
    LARSSON
    BENDTNER

What order and who with, well who knows. Bring back Catts or stick and hope.

    I really dont know.

Bring Catts back or stick with Franky?
Sess l/w (i'll leave it at that)..
    Gardner, hhmmm
    Bramble? What about Turner..
Elmo the good or Elmo thud?
    Ji/Wickham...

So many questions Syd, i'm unable to answer the team for you...

SAFC,= spaghetti western, the good the bad and the ****ing ugly. (maybe that's just Franky).

I have already been shot down from a great height and crrashed and burned by cest for this team, but dont care, it worked for AC Milan in the 80`s 90`s, why cant it work again.

I know I am no manager, and i am not even sure on this team, will probably change my mind 20 times before the match anyway, but as we dont have a left back why not play with 3 in defence.

please log in to view this image

Ball coming down the left, Cattermole goes into Defense, Bramble goes out to meet it, likewise down the right, with O`Shea coming accross (its not a wingback formation) and Brown playing more of a sweeper, than a CB by himself. Will it work, **** knows, i am not the Manager, but cant see why it cant.

Not a bad shout that we haven't got a left back so play without one. Wouldn't trust sess to look after the left by himself like but lets face it it can't get a great deal worse ...... CAN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Id leave Sessegnon out and look to use him as an impact player from the bench. Id actually give Richardson a game in an advanced position and move oshea to left back and elmo to right back. Its also time to throw Wickham in there from the start. Right now id go

    ........................Westwood...................
    elmo.........bramble.....brown.......Oshea..
    larsson......vaughan....gardner.....Richardson..
    .................Bendtner....wickham....................

Wouldn't be too adverse to this but though Gardner was absent last night definitely time for Catts to prove a point, I hope

Larsson whipping in crosses from the right? When has he done that? He doesn't have the attributes necessary to get into postions to whip in crosses mate. Did you see Chelsea? Swansea? Elmo has been far, far more effective on the right, even if he doesn't have the quailty of Larsson. Larsson isn't ideal on the left, but he'll be absolutely fine with two players capable of holding up the ball up front. That'll give him time to get forward and pick up the ball in dangerous areas, as happened on numerous occasons in the Stoke game when Sessegnon actually had some use and held the ball up well. Larsson was arguably the best player in the first half against Newcastle playing on the left. He got the goal from the left against Liverpool and provided that wonderful ball for the Woodgate own goal from the elft against Stoke. He was poor on the left yesterday but the team was badly let down by Sessegnon who provided no platform for players like Larsson, who needs players who can hold the ball up, to get forward. Larsson was on the right against Chelsea and Swansea, to say he was ineffective in those two games just doesn't explain how inadequate that set-up was.

I'm seeing the team sheets here and it's become apparent we'll never get the set up we need. We must stick with Vaughan and Gardner in the middle and Elmo on the right. Don't let Sessegnon's sabotage yesterday let us be sidetracked from the good thing we're close to having. The pressure has really got to blackcatsteve, who's only gone and put 3 at the back!? Stick to stats, mate. Can't believe that line up.

    really, absent?

If we'd line up from the start with 10 men leaving Sessegnon in the changing rooms, would you have expected much? would you have expected the midfielders to have been creative much when there's only Bendtner ahead of them? Gardner, who i wasn't too fussed about before, showed me what he's capable of in the last two games. He pinged a few lovely passes about last night. if he'd more going on ahead of him, i'm sure things would have been hugely different.

We risk throwing all the encouraging signs away because of Sessegnon. We started with 10 men yesterday, everyone has to think of the enormity of that. That's why we lost. If we start dropping Gardner and/or Vaughan and dropping Elmo, we're back at square one and we'll lose games. loads and loads of games.

Team should never have been left the same last night. SORRY, it looked good against Stoke BECAUSE Stoke were woeful. Add to that 1 x own goal, 1 x keeper error, 1 x deflection. Yes they all count but it didn't half paper over the cracks. Away from home we need a battler. In form or not Catt or Colback.
Elmo is sh*t. OUT. Richardson is not a (can't be arsed to even type it) OUT, Sess is not a striker,OUT. Larson doesn't want to be on the left, OUT. Wickham is for next year, OUT, Ji is for next year, OUT, Mclean was bought for (well next year I suppose). WHAT TEAM FOR SATURDAY NOW?

    I haven't got a clue mate.

Right you think that but Elmo managed 1 good ball yesterday though and did a lot of running into the full back as he seems to always do. I agree Larsson has been given far to few chances to show his delivery so far this season. My preferred tactic would be to actually have bendtner and someone else in the middle to receive the cross (not the wingers fault whoever it is) and have larsson or elmo deliver the ball from a deeper position without trying to get in behind the full back that we were unable to do anyway. Who knows maybe our "attacking" midfielder Gardner might begin to show some interest in getting into the box and try and score but on the basis of last night I'm not hopeful. We look lost and scared in my opinion mate and far from having a good thing but hope you are right.

Last time i played Football manager it was Championship manager and that was 11 years ago. (and i always played 4-3-3 in that anyway)

3 at the back, why not? I wouldnt play it against Man U or Man City, i would rather go with 5 at the back with attacking wing backs against those, but its bloody West Brom, who are playing worse than us, I just hope its 2 strikers and not 1, we are at home, we need to attack, and we need to hammer someone, the formation i said would give us a hell of an attacking threat, and nullify their attack as well imho.
