Wonder what this means for Leahy / THD. I can't see Garner wanting 3 LB's.

I personally think THD will leave if they get a decent offer for him, his injury record since he joined has not given him the chance to really impress, but if they can get him and keep him fit then Leahy could find himself looking for another club

I wonder whether he's carrying quite a bad injury because when they showed the players reporting for training before the start of the season he could hardly walk. I think he might have to work quite hard to keep injuries at bay.

Or THD will be used as a LW as he looks good going forward. Just a thought I didn't think of before. Most likely injury related though and probably a high earner. Also Garner seems to want to sign players and keep players who he can improve and sell off, as a way to make the club money. I doubt with THD injury history that we will get a good fee for him. But letting him go will probably free up a good chunk in the wage budget.

I wonder what CB's will be going as im sure Rollin will want more game time and not stick around for loan football or as a back up.

Cameron Hargreaves has signed a new contract a 2 year deal.

I am impressed with the way the club are looking at our younger players going forward into the future. all we want now is the chance to see them wearing the Blue and White quarters in a match

He has a bright future and we could get a potential good fee for him, if we develop him right.

The Club is pleased to announce that Ollie Hulbert has signed his first professional contract.

The youth team prospect, who has been on the books with Rovers since the U8's age group, has impressed this season as a second-year scholar, with six goals in 14 starts.

The centre-forward captained the U18's during their 2019/20 FA Youth Cup fixtures and was on the scoresheet as Rovers beat Swindon Town at the County Ground in the competition.

Speaking about the youngster agreeing his first professional deal, Manager Ben Garner said:
"Ollie is a player that has come all the way through the Academy system from a young age. He is highly regarded by the Academy staff and has shown his potential when training with the First Team. Ollie will now be given the opportunity to develop further with the aim of progressing into the first-team squad."

Hulbert commented on the step up to a professional contract, saying:
"I'm delighted to be signing a pro contract with Bristol Rovers and working hard to get my career started."

Academy manager Chris Hargreaves offered his thoughts on the deal, saying:
"Ollie has worked extremely hard on his game and I am delighted he has been rewarded with a pro contract. He is one of many Academy players who see a pathway towards the first team and who want to be part of the future of the club."

JCS I have not seen any youth matches in the last couple of seasons. The last youth match I saw had a Cameron Hargreaves playing for Exeter U18s and the next time I saw him he was wearing the Blue and White quarter in an U23s match at the lawns. The one player released I am sad to see leave is Isaiah Crawford who I saw playing at the Gloucester all weather surface at Almondsbury and I thought he played really well. I know he had a bad injury end of / beginning last season so maybe it knocked his confidence and he was unable to push on with his development

The Club is pleased to announce that goalkeeper Liam Armstrong has agreed a new deal.

A product of the Club's Academy, the 20-year-old penned his first professional deal with the Gas back in May 2018 and has now finalised terms to extend his stay at the Memorial Stadium.

In previous seasons, loan spells have helped the youngster gain exposure to first-team football.

The most successful spell for goalkeeper came during a stint at Tiverton Town F.C during the 2018/19 season, where he made over 50 appearances and was awarded the Young Player of the Year accolade for the Southern League Premier Division South outfit.

Last season, Liam impressed during a loan stint at Salisbury F.C

An injury sustained at the beginning of the year ruled the goalkeeper out for a prolonged period and he has since been participating in a process of rehabilitation to get back to full fitness.

On Liam signing his new deal, Manager Ben Garner said:
"We are pleased that Liam has signed a new deal. He's another player that has risen through our Academy system and we want to try to provide pathways for our own players that we develop. Unfortunately Liam suffered an injury setback shortly after I arrived at the Club, in what would have been a crucial time for him to impress to earn a new contract. We felt that is was only right to offer him the support to recover fully and to prove his potential once back to full fitness.”

    Goalkeeper Coach, Adrian Tucker added:
"Liam was unfortunate to pick up a serious contact injury in training on the turn of the year and considering his progress previously, including a successful loan spell at Salisbury, he deserved the opportunity to prove his well being."

Bristol Rovers F.C is delighted to announce that Lucas Tomlinson has agreed terms on a new contract.

The 19-year-old, who signed his first pro deal with the Club back in May 2019, has put pen to paper on a new deal.

A product of the Club's Academy, standout performances for the Under-18 side in the 2018-19 season and eight matches for the Development Squad propelled the promising talent to the fringes of the first-team heading into the 2019/20 campaign.

After signing a professional deal last summer, Tomlinson was part of the first-team squad that headed to Dublin for a pre-season training camp and was on the score sheet in our 7-0 pre-season friendly win against St Mochta’s.

The energetic playmaker made his first competitive outing for the Gas back in September 2019, featuring against Chelsea's U21's in the Leasing.com Trophy.

Further appearances in the competition followed, as the youngster gained more game time in fixtures against both Swindon Town and Leyton Orient.

Tomlinson's first outing in Sky Bet League One soon followed, as he was introduced from the bench during our victory over Ipswich Town in December, with the teenager finishing the campaign with five first-team appearances to his name.

Speaking about the deal, Manager Ben Garner commented:
"Lucas has agreed a new deal which we are pleased with. He has transitioned well from the Academy this season and is another player who has progressed through the system. Lucas has the desire to try and force his way into the first-team squad and he now has the opportunity to do just that."

Development Squad Manager, Lee Mansell added:
"Lucas is a talented young lad who is deserving of his new contract. He’s made his debut and has shown glimpses of the talent he possesses in a number of other appearances for the first team. Lucas is brilliant to work with and his attitude and willingness to listen and get better should hopefully see him break through fully into the first-team squad."
