Yup, there's a lot of guff that we accept as being real in our lives, when in fact it's just concepts, conditioning, behaviours, stuff we're told to believe. And there's a lot of stuff that we simply filter out and don't even see that it's there. I think the Greek word for it is Scotoma, which is used in optometry to describe an eye condition, but I think it's ancient Greek meaning was 'something that is there, yet we don't see it'

DMT just strips it all bare and reveals such an incredible all encompassing landscape. I keep using the word astonishing because it is totally overwhelming initially. But you are right, it changes you forever. Once you have experienced that, there is simply no going back to the 'ordinary' world.

A bit off tangent but I like what comedian Jim Jeffries says in one of his stand ups:

"All we know for sure in this world is that we exist. I think, therefore I am. Everything else is open to interpretation"

Cracking comedian for making serious points within his jokes btw.

Dude it's probably the reason past ancient cultures like the Egyptian summerians Greeks excelled and got most of the information they used from and flourished with a hunger for knowledge and open minds of everything is possible

Have you read Food of the Gods by Terrance McKenna ? Amongst other things, he was an ethnobotanist and his theories are based in the idea that medical, spiritual and ritual plant use forms the basis for most cultures and civilisations. All cultures have had access to psychedelic compounds and it resonates with me that these were used to explore ideas outside of the 'norm', which led to knowledge and it's application, forming the basis of all cultures and civilisations.

Personally I think it is something that is badly missing from Western culture. We've lost or forgotten our knowledge of plants, herbalism and their therapeutic uses. I'm not saying we should ditch the modern world and return to life as it was hundreds or thousands of years ago, but I think psychedelics could have a huge role to play in healing a fractured and divided world that is heading for ecological disaster.

Yeah seems to be dude.... The only ones that can answer that though are the ones who didn't die lol but had a near death experience as they call it.

It's not for the weak at heart and I'd would definitely do lots of research before even thinking of grabbing some from Joe bloggs on the street...... Infact I would never buy anything like that from Joe bloggs.

Been bit of a worry lately that people are taking stuff and are falling ill from ****..... That's not dmt that's been made by someone with care and attention I can tell thee it's some greedy twat trying to make a buck whilst not caring for the consequences of the people they sold it to.
Is there a list of reputable dealers i can consult?

I'd never buy it off a dealer tbh and it's why I probably won't ever end up doing it again. When I did it my pal extracted it himself. Completely pure (for want of a better word).

I've said this before but it's an odd one as although part of me says everyone should try it, I wouldn't personally feel comfortable just giving it to anyone. It's a powerful substance which needs to be treated with respect, not as something to just get ****ed on.

Because the catholic church called people with this knowledge witches and burnt them.

Nah my heads crazy enough without all that. Albeit i did take quite a liking to morphine one time under medical supervision, now that craving remains with you for years.

Morphine is ****ing fantastic, I'd never take it for more than two days in a row though lol.

Edit - I've not used it recreationally either, unless you include having it to help sleep after a coke sesh :bandit:

I've mentioned it on here before, but back in my yoot I used to go to Venezuela with a mate of mine who was a total space cadet. He literally dedicated his life to exploring psychedelics. He'd made contact with a Shaman out there and invited me into that circle. They were some of the most intense and wonderful times of my life, being able to experience DMT in it's natural surroundings in the Jungle, with people who understood what it was as it was deeply rooted in their culture.

I feel very fortunate and privileged to have had those opportunities given to me.

Lol there are places that cater for it in this country yeah but that seems a bit middle class hippie for me.... Not a bad thing but not my scene to trip with people who got a ferrari parked outside.

Back last summer they had an event in Bristol that had shamen and dmt available for the spiritual side of it but even though my mates were trying to get me to go I just didn't fancy it if not out doors or at least in familiar surroundings..... But yeah search net and you will find places all over England offering sessions...... I'm wanting ayahuasca next tbh so unless I get to Peru I'm a bit stuck in limbo

Yeh I've just been reading up on it and I already knew I wouldn't be scoring it off anyone in this country, but after reading about it I'm guessing the best place is South America or if it's legalised in places like Netherlands.

Funny thing is I hadn't heard of it before today <laugh>

Btw a lot of the links that came up referred to it as a hallucinogenic but I take it many on here who have taken it would say it's more than that?

The term Hallucinogenic is just a frame of reference. It's a bit misleading as an hallucination suggests something that is imagined and isn't there, when the experience is more real that me sitting at my laptop typing this message to you right now <laugh>
