Boris Johnson facing backlash after scrapping pledge to keep chlorinated chicken out of British supermarkets

Does anybody actually believe a word of anything he says ? Genuine question.
I believed him when he went on HIGNFY and said one of his friends had given him cocaine, but then I disbelieved him when he said he sneezed all over it and they never offered it to him again.

I believed him when he asked for a Journalist to be beaten up for investigating his activities, when the phone conversation was played back to him

Not yet.

Do you think he'll stick to that promise, or break it like he has with ditching the food standards pledge ?
Where has he ditched the food standards pledge?

I am doing a volunteer friendship call twice a week to a local 78 yr old who lives alone.
Very entertaining chats...tonight she ranted for a good 15 minutes about Trump and the police.
She has been telling me about her memories of pre tv, bringing up her kids, working as a nurse (in the same hospital as my mum by a weird coincidence) and her love of walking.

I wish some of those who say that it's "only the old and sick" who are affected could talk to someone like her...they'd realise what a loss to our world that generation are.

Too many have gone before their time cos of the virus especially in care homes.

It don't matter to me if "they only had a few years left" ... they, like every other victim of the virus are a loss.

Have only been speaking to her for 3 weeks (6 calls) but have learnt a lot of history and ideas from her.

Feel very lucky to chat with and learn from her.

Probably got **** all to do with the current chat but just thought @PISKIE needed a bit of hippy company <cheers>

No confirmed sources <doh>

So Piskie is running about saying food standards have been ditched and Boris might be backtracking on the NHS.

All pure speculation <laugh>

Downing Street signalled on Thursday that imports of lower-standard American food were now on the table in the negotiations, a reversal of a longstanding promise.

I'd already posted this link btw. Must just not have been paying attention mate :)

Good work that man.

Glad to see somebody else is actually taking some action and doing something positive about it all.

I dismay sometimes, absolutely fully support their right to peaceful protest, but putting that to one side for a moment, it just astounds me with all the latest headlines regarding covid around BME, I can't help but think, who is kidding who here. I believe there was something like 5,000 people on that march, on a less peaceful side, I saw people coming toe to toe with the police. So is someone bullshitting about the threat of covid or are those people not as bothered about BME infection rates as the media want us to believe. If any of those people are sick over the coming 3 weeks, will it be the governments fault, the police or maybe themselves, or will I simply be condemn for daring to challenge what we've been guided to avoid over the last 10 weeks of lockdown.

I think people have had enough of bullshit tbh....... Fk me twas not so long ago tubes were choker block and did it cause more cases...... I've yet to see evidence it did but then again I don't watch mainstream so I'm not in the loop of doom and facts from government misinformation.

I could be wrong but with the talk of a China cover up this **** has been here since before Christmas but fear only started when the media and political soundbites started over hyping the situation and then adding covid to any fkr that died in that period even if they didn't die from covid.

Just my opinion and I'm open to be proved wrong

I was reading an interesting article the other day of covid, can't remember where from, but it was how the virus developed from two sources, much in the way as it copies dna, it's path gets dislodged, but it does not need to recreate it from the beginning again, because it's remembered the previous code, hence you get sars-covid, as it completes the code on the secondary path. All a load of scientific bolloxs but it sounded convincing and completely dismissed the Chinese laboratory. How it's original source was bats....and one other half of the combo whose short name escapes me...

No good me being scientific i aint got a clue, but it sounded like they knew what they was talking about, more than you do aberdude <whistle>
