Okay, traps are set..yuck! It's squirrels apparently. I find it strange that a pest controller has to ask me how to spell squirrel, but i'll pass over that..he was lovely and very helpful. And..he found "the biggest wasps nest i've ever seen in a house"! Great...i could start a blinkin' zoo!

Don't know what it is about wasps just recently, but we have had several nests in our loft recently and my neighbour had one this year as well and there is another at the bottom of the garden that I need to "fix" before they buggers hunker down for the winter.

I had to call in sick today as I am feeling like ****e, I have just woken up!...means I will be missing the game tonight, but will need to get fit for Saturday...!! Anyone want a student ticket for Saturday? Little Miss W_Y cannot make in now as she has had her Olympic training workshop brought forward to this week-end...grrrrr

Here they scare off the pigeons.

Had a power cut last night for about 1/2 hour - it had something to do with our connection with N. France as Guernsey also suffered.

Are you certain the large wasps nest was not a small hornets nest?

A seven day weekend would that mean football everyday? A season would be about 300 games ! Then our enlarged squad may have its uses<laugh>

My rat trap was sprung overnight, but no sign of the said creature. The tasty offering was untouched so think that one of the very small lizards that are everywhere could have triggered it.

Our wasps have not been around so much this year, but plenty of hornets came while the pears were still on the trees. The traps for them were very successful especially as they were home made out of old plastic bottles.

I did spot a news item about red squirrels on Brownsea Island increasing in numbers. We only have red ones and they have been very busy of late collecting nuts. They are great fun to watch, even if they are rodents.

Another positive is that each game would require beer or wine!
