I just think it is a difficult for anyone to have info until the clubs have fully assessed the financial impact both immediate and for the future including the possibility / probability that broadvasters will want to renegotiate their existing deals .

Journalists have to eat too - usually raw meat in their case - so if there's nothing happening they either have to speculate wildly or just make stuff up.

14.21 BST: Someone should tell Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp that you can't just call up players and ask them to join.

Marko Grujic interview | 'I've got used to playing behind closed doors'

Marko Grujic is becoming accustomed to playing behind closed doors as he prepares for Hertha BSC’s fourth game following the resumption of the Bundesliga.

The Liverpool midfielder has started and finished each of his loan club’s three matches since the German season restarted earlier this month.

A smart, volleyed finish from Grujic helped Hertha claim a 2-2 draw at RB Leipzig in midweek - a result that followed convincing victories over Hoffenheim and Union Berlin for Bruno Labbadia’s team.

In-form Hertha’s next assignment sees them host Augsburg on Saturday and, ahead of that fixture, Liverpoolfc.com caught up with Grujic to discuss the adaption to a new way of working, his aims for the rest of the campaign, his hopes for Liverpool and more…

LIVERPOOL HAVE UNTIL 15 JUNE TO SIGN WERNER.

Werner is currently under contract until 2023 and Liverpool have until 15 June to meet his release clause of €60m (£52.7m).

Liverpool have been long-term admirers of his talent but recent reports have seen United and Chelsea keep tabs on his situation.

However, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Werner has held meetings with Klopp and assured him Anfield would be his preferred choice.

“Liverpool two weeks ago asked time to Leipzig for Timo Werner,” he tweeted.

Surely we can stump up the £9m loan fee for Coutinho that the papers are reporting that Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Uniturd are 'fighting' over? They can knock it off the millions they still owe us, allegedly.

Any money spent on a loan is dead money. The £9m rumoured is quite high for a loan, plus wages on top. Absolute no from me. And that's before I even consider the way he made his bed #****him

PS... knocking it off what they owe us is still spending it!

There's a reason we're not interested, he doesn't fit with the team anymore.

Fact is theres alot of 'paper' talk, how many of those teams have actually done anything about it.
Frankly the price is too high for pretty much all of them (wages and transfer) and he's failed to make a serious impact at both Barcelona and Bayern. Also why should we want him back, we're much better without him, save the money buy someone younger and better. Werner and Sancho??

Away from the super rich clubs, I just can't see many spending much this summer.

    This ^

The idea that there’ll be a return to ‘normal’ transfer business is for the birds. Most clubs won’t be left with a budget and will have to trade at nett. Others will be seeking to trade at a negative to try and balance their books imo.

also think there will be an obvious "wait & see" period as clubs try to work out the revenue they can expect next season . Any clubs who splurges this summer only to find broadcasting revenues are cut and no crowds allowed all season deserve all they will get .

I'm also rather hoping there'll be a sort of 'tax' on Prem clubs to assist the lower leagues for the next two or three seasons. That includes this re-start malarkey - I know it's primarily being done to lesson the broadcasters' bill, but nonetheless, there's enough money in the prem product, even behind closed doors in the 'new normal', for a worldwide audience desperate for their footy fix. Yes, it's artificial, but it looks like that is going to be as good as it gets for a year/18 months.

If the prem clubs - including my own - just take the attitude 'We'll do what we have to do to weather it, and stuff the small clubs', in some sort of Darwinian economic exercise that will happen in industries like the airlines and tourism, for example, it'll be a sad, sad ****ing day. But I can see our giant clubs turning round and saying '**** that - we have to compete with top Spanish, French and German clubs, and if they're not doing the same, we'll be disadvantaged'. Hope FIFA and UEFA can start setting the bar for wealth distribution, for that reason.

For that reason, I think we'd be insane not to get the Anny Rd End done this season.
