He will not be a free agent next summer and it looks like we are trying to tie him in for longer http://www.southlondon-today.co.uk/Sport.cfm?id=35606&headline=Exclusive: Sign up B (better than Shaun) W-P you know you want to AllHell
Thats some stat from that story, 14 goals in 29 starts! Sign him up now, before other local rivals who are in need of goal scorers start to get ideas!
... Great work super. The sooner he puts pen to paper the better Imo. Genuine goal machines like BWP are as hard to come by as a pile of rocking horse s**t. With the way the season has started for us I'd be surprised if he wanted to move on elsewhere. However, money talks at the end of the day. One thing I'm absolutely sure of is; the slightest whiff of negotiations stalling and there will be a queue of clubs round the block ready, willing and able to step in and take him off our hands.
The one thing that does perhaps concern me is..... (drum roll please)....... our board being open to the fact they like to sign players that have a sell on value. So he signed for somewhere between 100-250k, should we receive a bid of 700k plus in Jan(without him signing the extension of course), would we sell? Reminds me somewhat of Beckford and Leeds.
Money talks. If a bigger club came in for him offering a fair bit then realistically we are going to sell. That said, tie him down so we can get the best price for him, one thing this summer has shown me is that we are finally getting our act together in the transfer market.
700k or the considerably larger financial rewards that promotion will bringâ¦? The only way our board will jeopardise our promotion hopes by selling BWP is; if he has his head turned by considerably better terms elsewhere. If this does happen I canât see them selling unless he puts in a written transfer request.
Leeds kept Beckford until the end of the season and went up, though it wasn't really thanks to Beckford, who was poor in the second half of the season, presumably 'distracted'. Actually, BWP's scoring record isn't that great, it's only since 2010 that he has been a regular goal scorer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_Wright-Phillips
