Boggers Deffo will do mate, I understand everything you say, maybe its a northern thing that I say a game like Union as a game for Softies (No offence) 6 tackles mean you have to be quick at creating a try and have to think fast rather than everyone jumping on top of each other to create gaps, Fullbacks actually run the ball into the tackle against a 16 stone machine they dont see them and **** it n kick to the opposite side.
Steve Thompson I think his name is, played for Leeds Carnegie last year and England, is a right fat knacker. Everyone knows RL requires 10 times the fitness of Union.
There's always going to be the debate between RL and Union but the purist version of the original game is quite obvious. What did William Webb Ellis do with the ball? a) Pick it up and kick it back to the opposition. b) Pick it up and run towards the oppositions line. c) neither of the above
Basketball is just the most mind numbing sport ever. Only the Yanks can make it into a massive commercial venture, as with ice hockey. Jeez, massively overrated and dull.
Basketball's dull to watch but cracking to play. Agree about Ice Hockey, just a fight on Ice, they only need to replace the sticks with guns and they'll be sorted.
That'll be why League forwards have never made it in Union then Phil... because they're too fit? Nah, not good enough & certainly not fit enough!!!
Fair point lllfb. But then again WWE didn't have some hairy ar$ed set of forwards denying him time & space to score tries. He would have kicked it back had he had 14 colleagues, 8 of who could lift him high enough to collect the ball from the resulting line out to continue the attack.
Boggers Your pulling wool over your own eyes, Union Forwards are fat! The only decent union player who I can remember that picked up the ball and ran with it was Robinson and he came from league
I think you'd struggle to convince the girlies in particular & the fellas who appreciate their effort around the park that Courtney Laws, Lawrence Dalaglio, or Tom Croft to name but three are fat. Robinson was a full back/wing & would therefore never have had an ounce of fat on him. Yes, he really was a class act, the like of which we won't see for a while. But it was as much to do with his ability to move his feet in a different direction to his body that stood him out. He didn't learn that, he was born like that.
Because I am a shareholder of the company and it all affects the profit margins. We didn't get total cover on our company cars, as we aim to purchase the cars at the end of the initial deal, so we pay for tyre replacements. I can only claim actual business mileage, so getting to/from work (which is nearly 150 miles round trip) costs me.
wouldnt even have a clue where forwards play in rugby, dont they play behind the others? Remember Jason Robinson, who is a Leeds lad as well, being as big a part of any of the Union World Cup winning team. Don`t know what position he played but he did the do.
For many years there was a story going around Glasgow, that Jason Robinson was born in Glasgow to a prostitute originally from Leeds. The father was a white Scottish man. Now I have no idea where or why this story went around, but the media tried to keep it up for a while, stating that he was eligible to play for Scotland as he was actually Scottish!
