And you often do Aldo <diva>

Not keen on Strangers on a Train tbh. Saw it again recently and it's not as good imo.

Really! I love that movie. Rear Window is another. North by Northwest and Rope, all Classic Hitchcock.

12 Angry men, 10. To kill a mockingbird, 10, in the heat of the night, dare I say it, yes I do, 10.

    Gonzo was talking pish.

Saw How The West Was Won in 'Cinerama' when I was a kid... basically a huge tent in a park and it was projected onto the walls ... it was amazing ... James Stewart as Linus Rawlings... <cheers>

Aldo's excellent piece of movie trivia #15342

Jack Lemmon was nominated for a Golden globe for his performance in a made for TV movie remake of 12 angry men in 1998. Ving Rhames won for his portrayal of Don King. He then called Lemmon up to the stage and handed him his Golden Globe

It's impossible to name a movie that Jimmy Stewart was in and he wasn't fantastic tbh.

Yeh I really rated it when I was younger, but just thought it lacked something when I saw it again. The whole little sister and glasses thing was the best thing about it.

The 3 you mentioned there are bang on the money. Rope is very underrated.

As for B&W Hitchcock the two I like are both where the guy you're rooting for ends up being the killer in the end. I cba to look up the names but one of them was Richard Todd. Fcking love that about Hitchcock, way ahead of his time even then.

I went through a whole Cagney phase back in the day. He made some brilliant films.

I'd agree with all 3 of those 10's.

Modern day 10? Mine straight off the bat - Usual Suspects.

Ahh man, you don't want anyone to build it up bro. I want to say just go in with a blank canvass.

Bogart and his partner are P.I's and take on a case from a woman. The partner gets killed and Bogart then ends up having to find out who killed him and why. In the midst of it all is the Maltese Falcon, a rare precious artefact which everyone is after including a bloke called the Fat Man. That's about as much as you need to know.

The script is brilliant but the real gem of the film is the dialogue, especially Bogart's. The last scene between him and the femme fatale. It's lyrical genius. It breaks a lot of the regular conventions of movie narrative at the time and a lot of films that have followed have pinched from it.

    Just watch it fgs <laugh>

I watch Jaws at every opportunity. It's in the top 5 best films ever made. A tour de force from a brilliant director and an amazing cast acting their fùcking nuts off.

    Just my opinion though.
