After a quick read through Autosport one article got me thinking, can Force India overtake Renault and claim 5th in the WCC. Now as it stands they are 22points behind Renault and in general the Renault has looked the better car this season. But are Renault thinking about next seasons car and drivers too much? Their development has stalled recently whilst Force India seem to be bringing new updates in. This is not a knee jerk reaction to Force India's and Renaults performances at Singapore, just a possible point of interest in a season that is starting to become wrapped up.
i hope so what a great story FI have shown themselves to be in f1 starting out as backmarkers, nobody really took them serious then the fairytale achievement at spa 2009 when they got pole and 2nd place out of nowhere and really should've won it and have slowly and surely risen up the constructors table getting better and better it gives inspiration to newer team like team lotus that they can make it too
I think this is gong to depend on the type of track, singapore really didn't suite the Renault although Senna made the most of it. but with only six races left it will be tough for the force.
From what i've seen, FI are now the 4th best team (they regularly beat the mercs now) so claiming 5th shouldn't be too difficult.
"The Force" lol. I don't see why they can't. They're getting input from Merc and McLaren...so they're in a good spot.
No chance. I think Force India can and will get more points than Renault from here on. But with the top six or seven places usually taken by the big four teams, and Renault likely to be back in contention for minor points in the next race, the gap is simply too big.
They possibly can, but I hope not. Only reason is because Senna is driving for Renault, otherwise I would have sheered for FI and di Resta. Edit: I don't know what I should vote for. Does the poll ask for "Can they" or "Will they"? Topic says can but the third poll option says will.
surprised at their pace this weekend, I didn't think the track would suit them, . They've bought in a lot of updates recently, and they've seemed to work, whether they can catch Renault is another story but the possibility is there. Aside their money problems which is causing a slow down updates wise, the other problem for Renault is they've dropped the wrong guy, A Heidfeld/Senna combo would've been the better option IMO.
Heidfeld almost certainly had a cheap to activate mid-season break clause given the circumstances, whereas Petrov was probably in a contractual position to stay for the season come what may. I don't think it really matters, Senna/Kubica is the most likely partnership in 2012.
Yes Force India can get fifth but Button can also still win the championship. I think they'll get close.
