Fine, Xisco will be forever ranked alongside Jon Dahl Tomasson as the superstar we mismanaged. Except one when on to play for AC Milan and the other went on to Muangthong United.
That wasn't the question though. He wasn't given a chance. A handful of subs appearances mean **** all. JDT you could argue was given a chance albeit in the wrong position.
Was Chopra given a chance then? He was with us forever and never broke into the first team. Xisco was with us for 5 years, and played under Keegan, Houghton, Kinnear, Pardew and Carver. They all saw him in the reserves and none of them rated him enough to put him in the first team. After he left us he went to the Spanish second division then Thailand, hardly a glittering career. He clearly wasn't that good, he had ample time to impress and try to get into the first team but he never managed it.
That means he was ****. But he wasn't given a chance on the first team regardless. Same goes for Jamie Sterry or James Tavienier (sp)
But why would he be given a chance in the first team if the managers saw he clearly wasn't first team standard. Sterry is 24 now and should move on cos he clearly isn't going to make it into our first team. Tavenier I thought was decent and could have a been a squad player for us, but the fact he's settled into the mickey mouse Scottish league tells you all you need to know about his ambition.
Watching this now on youtube, loved everyone of these players honestly. Loved the manager, the players, knew all the coaching staff. It was a great group
