There was just no emotion, yet he's got a human being under his knee, it was clear to everyone there the man was dying, but the cop didn't even show a spec of emotion to the situation or to alter his position to let the man live. It was if the cop was saying to himself, it's only a knee, I'm not doing anything else. Yet all it would have taken was for one of his collegues to shout his name loud and clear, and the cop would have stopped, because it needed something to trigger his conscience of the situation.
crazy isnt it. I've no doubt spent fake notes without knowing if it was passed to me. saw this whopper on facebook earlier. https://www.startribune.com/missouri-prosecutor-investigating-arrest-caught-on-video/570638502/ basically, black man and mom buy a tv, it doesn't fit in his car so he asks to return later to pick it up. They come back, get the tv, get accused by security of stealing it. They have a receipt and an employee confirm they had bought it earlier. Security still phone police. They go back inside to get a refund cause they are pissed the cops turn up and arrest them and basically assault them. Thank god i don't live in the states
I'm guessing it's conditioning on the part of the other officers. And maybe for some it was some fcked up heirarchy **** where they didn't feel they could question him. But that Thao bloke, he seems like he was on some next level. Really depends on how accurate those other news reports are but he's got previous for assaulting a couple where the mrs was pregnant and he kicked the bloke in the face while he was down. Sounds like a nasty piece of work.
Right ... Jesus ... I mean, if he's really resisting arrest or something and actually a serious threat in some way just taser the guy if necessary, chuck him in the back of the cop car and lock it, then drive him to the station
I don't know if those two cops were normally buddied up, but could have been part the problem if they were. It's like most relationships in life, you need one to keep the other one in check. I'm guessing it failed on all levels with them two.
You only had to watch the cops with the CNN reporter, to see how OTT they go on a situation. I never saw the black guy playing up at all, jeez he was big enough, he could easily have floored them first two cops when he was in cuffs, but from what I saw he was behaving himself. Even if he wasn't, clearly the situation leading up to his death, there was no trouble from the man.
The cops are ****ed, and rightly so.. It was plain murder..... but then donnie comes out with, start looting, we start shooting.... aye ok, but 4 cops just killed a bloke in slow time, in front of people,,,a slow death in full view off many.
I've had dodgy notes before, I just stick them back in the cash machine I certainly wouldn't be expecting a couple of cops to come and beat me up!
In full view of a mobile phone camera. Wonder how many happened that same week not in front of a camera. For Trump this whole story is like manna from heaven mate.
There are deep seated racial tensions in the US, which go back through the era of segregation and America's apartheid right back to slavery. It's always there bubbling beneath the surface. One of the problems with it now is that the Commander in chief is a thinly veiled racist himself.
ive been following in spate time.... first video, cop, basically kills bloke, no air, knee on throat, slow death. reverse angle, another 2 cop holding him down.. It's basically murder/..
I can't say anymore other than they deserve a murder case. I've watched it all, from both angles....Plus all the footage leading up to it. They deserve to rot..
Aye but when it goes to trial... if it goes to trial, we'll get a forensic explanation of why each and every one of those officers was acting in the right way, applying the right amount of force and doing what their training had asked of them. Remember Rodney King. By the time it gets to trial, how much will this become about racial politics? Not sure, and I have no idea what race relations are like in that State but demographics for a jury in Minnesota... White: 83% Black or African American: 6% Asian: 5%
mate i've watched the videos from all angles.....they have basically choked him to death in front off many people the main cop has history, a lot off it.
Agree mate, but it's a fcked up country with a fcked up legal system especially when it comes to prosecuting police officers. I'm hopeful they'll get a conviction but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if some plea deal isn't agreed or they get found innocent of murder and guilty of a lesser misdemeanor.
they killed him in cold blood.. In front of many people. 3 cops, one on his neck, 2 on his body. Cop on his neck has previous.
Yeah there's a real danger that it will just get whitewashed. But regardless of what comes from any trial, this is guaranteed to whip up more racial and political tension, because the US right now is fractured along the lines of right wing trump supporters, who are the same people protesting locks downs versus basically anybody else who criticises them.
