The whole shebang. Changes to fabric of a company, shareholders, directors. If he is leaving his resignation would need to be filed separately.
Why? If it's a new stadium and we're being paid silly money each year for the privilege of some organisation having their name on the ground why does it matter. Obviously as long as it's not something stupid of course, but Aramco Arena doesn't sound that bad....hell of a lot better than Sports Direct Arena @SJP or whatever it was. SJP will always be SJP and if we stay there then it needs to retain that name in some shape or form. I'm not averse to Aramco SJP or whatever as I said as long as it's subtle and doesn't detract from SJP. The problem last time was that it was rammed down our throat by the FCB who was already on the slide in terms of popularity rating so it was seen as another nail in the coffin and another **** you to us fans. If it was done right with some options put on the table for consultation then I see no reason why a subtle change of name would be that big a deal.
If we spend too much time wondering about we are going to lose with change, we will lose sight of what we are going to gain from it.
If we move I don't care about the name st James' park I just don't want it to be a sponsored name. Tacky as **** and ****.
No point asking him that - you’d be better off trying its current owner. If I wanted to watch a club I have no connection to, playing in shirts I’ve never seen before, in a soulless stadium with no history, buy some trophies as a vanity project for its Arab owners, I could have ****ed off and supported Man City years ago and missed half the Ashley years anyway. We need to be careful that the horror of Mike Ashley doesn’t blind us into accepting whatever comes our way next. We can demand a club with history and connection to its roots in the city AND a club that competes for cups and challenges the top 6 in the League. We are Newcastle United. We deserve no less.
There's zero chance of getting Leazes Terrace delisted and nor should it. It's grade I listed and is regarded as one of the finest buildings in the country. If we stay at St.James's Park, the stadium will remain lopsided. I quite like the personality of a wonky stadium and don't see any reason to move on account of symmetry. The reason we may have to move is if it becomes evident we've outgrown it in terms of capacity and commerce. If the land at Strawberry Place is lost, then a major expansion of the Gallowgate wouldn't be possible. So.....a move would have to be considered. I'd only consider a move to a new stadium on the condition that it'd be in the centre of the city and be of appropriate quality. The arena is the obvious site as it's quite central, very near the station and has a huge amount of land surrounding it (empty and/or tertiary) development could be almost limitless. However, plans are afoot for a massive residential development there and, again, we could be a couple of years too late to intervene. Whatever, this takeover needs to hurry up.
There was plans under sjh to move the stadium further down the park where there was space. I just don’t think I could cope with the stadium being knocked down? It’s to big to be training etc so it would have to be knocked down if we build one away from the current location. Strawberry place is the only area it could be expanded but I think that ships sailed. The takeover has to go through first mind.
If the saudi's are hell bent on blowing the rest of the premier league out of the water with their wealth and assembling a team to dominate for years to come then i'd be stunned if they hadn't had discussions around a new stadium with a capacity to outweigh anything else in the country...100k capacity for example. What's to say that the hold up is not down to discussions around where and how we could make that happen. If staveley has been talking to the council then this surely must have been on the agenda as well as what this deal could mean for the rest of the city. If they're gonna announce the takeover, far better to have a number of other things lined up at the same time. 1. New Owners - Saudi PIF/AS & JR 2. New Board/Executive Director team - tba 3. New Manager - tba 4. We've bought xx piece of land and the vision is to move to a new state of the art stadium with 80k - 100k capacity as well as new state of the art training facilities within 3-5 years. SJP will be our home until then. Would anyone realistically kick up a stink about any of that if it was announced all at once?
Beginning to find twitter even funnier. People are bombarding the PL twitter people shouting abuse and mentioning the fans mental health. Give over. If it is really affecting you delete all social media from your life. Problem solved
