To be honest I think Ferguson is by far the most respected manager, but he is also the most reviled. As is often the way, success often leads to a combination of hatred/respect from differing fans. There are some (moron) Liverpool and City fans who constantly insult Ferguson and have real hatred towards him. Then there are more discerning Liverpool and City fans who may say, "I don't like the guy, but he has done a hell of a job and he is the best around". It was the same when Mourinho was here. The exception to this is Wenger, maybe 7 years ago he had both respect and hatred faced at him in equal measures. But now with the way he has dealt with other managers, and his players and his constant whining has pushed him down on the respectability level. It was fine when he was winning trophies, but now he just seems like a sore loser. Lennon I only have respect for, along with Coyle and Pullis for the jobs they have done.
Love... O Neil, Lambert and Wenger...............................Hate...... Warnock, McLaren and Sven
Yeah, because Fergie cups his ear to the crowd and gets involved in handbags with other managers You'd "love" to know that? Doesn't take much to please you does it ST? Go to www.transferleague.co.uk if that floats your boat
Jip Lennon was getting abuse well before he cupped his ears at abusive fans I suppose he could have just fly kicked them instead
I actually thought that was funny when Lennon did that. After 90 minutes of dogs abuse he was well entitled to do that. Rangers fans outraged I do not like him as a person though and you will not find many outwith Celtic that do. Even some of my Celtic pals don't like him.
Fergie's had plenty of abuse. And it's only words, Lennon's supposedly a grown-up, he doesn't have to react. As for fly-kicking, when has Fergie ever done that? Because that's who we're talking about isn't it?
Cos he's Irish of course, that's why we all hate him. I thought that was obvious? Nothing to do with the fact he was a bit of a **** as a player and loved nothing more than winding up opposition players and fans and has carried it on as a manager
Respect is due to Moyes, for the job he's done at Everton and Alex Ferguson for his career and McLeish ... always rated him as a top bloke. In Scotland, got to give Shiels and Danny Lennon respect due to lack of funds in the SPL but have built entertaining footballing sides. Managers that are twats: Wegner, Allardyce, Mowbray,Eriksson, Redknapp.
His demeanour, his aggressive attitude, his child like rants, his lack of respect for authority his whole public persona, his horrible texts to his pregnant girlfriend. I could go on but I am not going to fall into the trap of mentioning dodgy dealings in Ireland because I will just get labelled as a bigot and I have no interest in religion. No I do not like him and I am not alone. He is also an arrogant, obnoxious twat in the same mould as say Willer Miller and Andy Goram (now he is a bigot) and I don't like him at all.
Lennon for all his wind ups was well behaved in Scotland, only receiving two red cards He is actually less controversial than Souness and his flag stunt, Craig Brown and his pitch side barneys, Craig Levin and his accusations about referees, Morinho and his allegations about bias vs Madrid and Fergusons tiff with the BBC Lennons crimes are Calling incidents as he saw them Being sarcastic about an incident that went against his team Cupping his ears He did not accuse the whole refereeing establishment cheats, even though 3 members were pushed out of the door due to one of these incidents In fact, you dislike Lennon because the people reporting on him want you to Todays Sky Sports headline Lennon Rages about Feruz He actually laments about the situation Remember, lennon played in England for years without any trouble So to summerise, lennon is disliked because he does what a good percentage of managers do AND he cupped his ears Makes sense
Respected Sir Alex Ferguson Arry Redknapp Kenny Dalglish Despised Neil Lennon Sam Allardyce Neil Warnock
You asked me why and I have explained. If you cannot accept that then that's your problem. My thoughts are exactly the same with regards Ferguson and he was our greatest ever manager.
