As I understand it, there are no plans to force you to download the app. But you can still be identified as having come in contact with an infected person, through work for example, in which case you may get a phone call from an operative, telling you and anyone else in your household to isolate, even if you have no symptoms.

It won’t be, but the track and trace system - where they identify anyone an infected person may have come in contact with and contact them by phone - is still going live from next week.

 

ok last question, if someone has had the virus, how long do they remain a carrier of it. So let's say someone caught it a couple of months ago, could they still pass it on to people, through it remaining in their system.
