Golly Brian."Wallington/Carshalton.! Takes me back to my pre youth. Mum used to take me to visit the Whiteheads on this sub division (rented) with grey houses. We used to catch a number 80 Daimler double decker from Tooting Broadway and ride for about 10 minutes Then get off the bus, cross the road(?) and down this passage onto the sub Division. It had two lines of connected grey houses and a large grass area in between. Can't remember the road now, long time ago.
Nan always stayed with the Whiteheads after grandad peed her off....which was often. We lived in Tottenham then.
Always enjoyed the trip and the area was very nice.
I think there was a big school close by.
I did love the tram ride to Tooting via the Embankment and Manor House...(just before LT got rid of them (the swines!!!!!).

He was one of the Tory MPs that put out the indentikit message on social media earlier in the Cummings debacle:

It smacks of Heseltine's comments about Bodger:
“Well, I think that you have to see Boris as a career map.
He works it out, he decides which way the wind is blowing, and that wonderful phrase about a politician - a man who waits to see the way the crowd is running and then dashes in front and says, ‘Follow me’.”

Given the current landscape, anyone with that level of pragmatism is a prince in my book.

The current administration is made up of individuals, who when at school, wouldn't have been trusted to take the class hamster home in the holidays.

It's still a nice part of the world. Nothing spectacular but a 10 minute walk from my front door sees me in countryside with farms, horses, etc.

However, there's a service to London Bridge that takes 27 minutes.

A few months ago, I learned that it has the second lowest crime rate in London and L B of Sutton has the best schools. So, a good place to raise a family...apart from the fact that my house is built on Quaker land and there's a binding covenant that prevents a pub being built anywhere particularly near.

    That is a ****er.

I wish you all could have heard Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York at a sit down political talk today and a round of questions afterwards. I thought the man was brilliant. Talking for about an hour without a script.......I hope other politicians were watching, listening and learning.....especially the dickydido in the White House!

It's a funny old day when the BBC decides that Emily Maitlis is too left wing for News Night, the same person and programme that depicted Corbyn as Lenin

The speed they issued a statement saying Tuesday's intro didn't represent the Corporation, coupled with her not hosting on Wednesday, really doesn't make the BBC look like a submissive mouthpiece for the Tories

Oh, wait, I got that wrong...

If driving 260 miles with your wife and child in the same vehicle while you;re infected with Covid is a "mild" breach, they're going to enjoy having that little fact thrown at them if they try stopping anyone else for doing something significantly milder...
