Ed Balls is a prick but he's no more responsible for the recession than any other politician. Do you think it would have been different if the Tories had been power when the world-wide recession hit?

All we got during the 18 years that they were last in power between 79 and 97 was boom, recession, boom, recession, boom, recession so their record is hardly something to boast about.

    So Labour caused the recession?

    It's Labour's fault we have a deficit?

Do you guys know anything about politics? It seems to me you're just spouting the same boring uninformed ****e that anyone who has no clue about politics in this country says.

Please feel free to defend your ****ty points <ok>

Gordon Brown, who has many faults, probably understands the global markets better than most politicians. He was quick to recognise the threat to the international banking system caused by widespread exposure to toxic debt, and having moved to underwrite the UKs domestic banking sector, he lobbied the USA and our European partners to do the same. It's no exaggeration to say that his timely grasp of and response to the problem staved off a global depression.

So in a way, he did save the world, and history will validate him.

Maybe letting anyone who wants to come to the UK and live for free on benefits, or allow employers to dissolve 50 years of trade unions and lay off their entire workforce to replace them with minimum wage foreign workers had something to do with it?....
If you ever see a white British person working in TESCO or any other major supermarket i will be amazed...
    <no i m not a disgruntled ex supermarket worker>...
Labour opened the door to the E Europeans and we are now screwed...

If I could be bothered I'd refer you to Dev's thread about making excuses on the internet.

Accusing someone of meltdowns is up there <ok>
