I never made it out that he went to a stately home
I think of farmland with spare houses on it as an estate, but there you go, it’s all relative I suppose. As I said I would have been better using the word ‘land’
Anyway that wasn’t at all my point in the first place.
What he did, how far he went to do it and the fact that he, his wife, and the Govt all lied about it are the issues.
He could have been staying in a shed in the garden of his parents terraced house and it would have been the same.

You've mebbee not been to Chillingham Castle it's ****ing mental. It's not that stately and it's full of utter ****e, under the guise of eccentric.

    Nice tea room though.

I’m no expert either, but given what the Govt published yesterday either they are lying in that document or they are lying saying they’ve ordered millions of pin prick tests.
They may well have placed a conditional order if they pass accreditation, but as of yesterday they said that they don’t have any accredited

No, I've never been, in fact, thinking about it, I don't think I've even been to Northumberland.

A mate of mine owns a restaurant/farm shop place in Belford and keeps telling me I should go, but I've never got round to it.

Or he could have gone to his wife’s brother’s house in London. Which seems a lot easier...

I guess Ernie might be along in a minute to eulogise it too, but I couldn’t recommend Northumberland highly enough. The coast is pretty special, though it can be a bit parky admittedly.

His reasons/explanation for why he drove his child to his sister's seems reasonable and within the government guidelines. If you read his political opponents' explanation/interpretation, it would seem he did wrong, lied and all that Dennis writes. It seems that your political bent is going to influence how you interpret this news and it's just another example of how the virus has been weaponised to take down political/cultural opponents. Impossible to know the truth, just can hazard a guess based on pre existing bias..

He's managed to get a clown into the highest political position in the country and used Brexit to do so, so it's fair to say he's got a lot of enemies, so whatever he does is going to be used to take him down, rightly or wrongly.

The government website seems clear enough, they're not pin-prick tests and need to be done in a lab, so I suspect The Telegraph has got the wrong end of the stick and in turn, so have I.

It's a lovely house, but maybe it didn't have a big enough garden.

They are trying to get pin prick tests though so may have a conditional purchase lined up.

A Baronet, is that just a small Baron? Which raises the question small in stature or small in status?

A student I know has just got a job, he starts on Tuesday on the COVID tracking team. £10 an hour 37 hours a week. Working from home calling people up who may have had contact with someone who has COVID 19. Applied for it last Wednesday, has done a days training and only wanted part time. But they wanted him to do full time hours.
It’s not great pay, not that rewarding, but he normally works as a football coach at after school clubs.

I thought this was going to be some fancy computer program that sent a message to telephones that had been near to the infected persons.

The idea is the App will do that, but I think there’ll be a follow up with an actual person (crazy!) who can discuss the people the app flagged up and what you’ve done.
Presumably that’s to check if you’ve been up to anything without your phone?!?!?:bandit:

Good it’s brought a few hundred jobs into the area anyway

    Breaking news...

He'd been Finding Nemo, & he did it!

Seems reasonable and lawful to me...
