Off Topic SARS-CoV-2 Covid-19

Sounds like a plan. Heard so many stories of less savvy people going all in thinking that the price goes up in a straight line.
Good luck - a couple of mine are in the toilet at the moment, but I took money out in better times and stuck it in super boring funds for the dividends.

Have to say I agree with that, it's done it's job, move on.

 

Anyone fancy a go explaining the latest madness in the virus controls. Arrivals to the UK up to the 7th June can enter and just wander off, those arriving on the 8th need to quarantine for 14 days. What the **** is all that about? 24 million arrivals since the virus started have entered with no controls.

 

It seems to be acknowledged that the track and trace testing scheme seems the way forward to control the spread or second waves.
Unless I've got this wrong, it is going to be incredibly disruptive to the economy. If I have a positive test, all my work colleagues would be alerted by text and advised to self isolate for 14 days and be tested (which could reduce the time off). It basically closes the workplace until sufficient staff are tested, receive negative tests and can then return. With the massively increased volume of testing this will produce, this is likely to be a considerably lengthy process. Have I got this right?

 

Meanwhile everywhere else is coming out of lock down, all across Europe borders are reopening and things are returning to normal.

 

I personally haven't had a dig at the government in all this turmoil, I think they've done well under the circumstances, but today that Ugly Patel brought shambles to the proceedings... From next month all visitors will be quarantined for 14 days... 'we will check up on them to make sure they are'... like **** you will.... and we will fine them £1000 if they dont and may not be allowed entry.."... ( they're already here you ****wit) how about saying, if your planning on visiting here, you will be found a hotel at your cost while quarantined. You will pay for your own meals etc. Will that stop non essential visitors, too right it will....

 

The Ryan Air guy highlighted the stupidity of it, so a new arrival get offs the plane and onto public transport like the tube, bus or train to go to a place where they then have to stay in for 14 days. The damage could already be done.
