What a tedious prick this twat is. He chose to leave Pink Floyd but can't stop whingeing about them. I prefer David Gilmour, at least he isn't a bitter twisted ****.
You are right: it is heresy. Pink Floyd are awesome and easily one of the most influential bands of all time. High Hopes and Comfortably Numb are masterpieces of the highest order. Gilmour live is a wonder to behold. A true God of music. Waters is an ultra-talented twit.
Waters is so far up his dung funnel he is in serious danger of disappearing altogether. One can but hope.
Syd Barrett was the interesting one. The rest of the band basically made a career out of cataloguing Syd’s psychotic episodes. The lunatics are on the grass my arse. Two great Floyd albums, Dark Side of The Moon and Wish You Were Here, were both about Syd.
The Wall Is another terrific album. It is beautifully pretentious. I even enjoy Atom Heart Mother, particularly Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast. I'm an unashamed Pink Floyd nut.
I remember when The Wall was released; John Peel played one track a night on his Radio 1 evening show. I was a punk rocker by then, so forbidden to like Floyd, but I heard most of those tracks while stoned on Red Leb, round my next door neighbour Mick's bedroom (he had liberal parents). Bought the album as soon as it came out, God was it depressing, but perfect for a self absorbed teenager.
I'd only just celebrated my first birthday when The Wall came out. But I do reckon Baby Ponders loved the Floyd from day one.
