I had some sympathy for Johnson to begin with because like you say no PM has had to deal with anything like this before. But frankly his performance is indefensible in my book, his absence from any sort of public address recenyly is appalling, the rolling roster of unheard of squad members we get at the daily brief now is embarrassing. To a degree I think all governments lie or mask the truth from the public at times but this government would get more respect from me if they didn't lie and get defensive like petulant children when they have been caught out. Whether its testing numbers, PPE, Care homes whatever fess up and promise to do better is better than constantly bullshitting us. They have made monstrous cock ups and admit to none of them.
That's the thing that gets me most. They just cant ever admit any wrong doing, even when the facts are placed right in front of them! Its embarrassing! A simple, yes we didnt do this when we should have, apologies would go so much further than just blatant denial. It's a shame they choose to act this way and even more of a pity that we just readily accept it.....well some do anyway.

It would with you but they’ll always have a base who they can tell night is day and be fine. Same as the US.

Not that we have an unsophisticated electorate, of course.

No need to clam down mate, just fed up with the crap being posted, mostly by individuals who don’t actually know what ****ing day it is never mind what the truth is.
All coming out now that the European countries body count could actually be miles more than ours because it turns out most of them have been counting only certain criteria whereas we for the last few weeks have been counting all deaths that are related to corona virus including the underlying ones, for example in Spain and France they still don’t count care home deaths or haven’t been, and maybe our partial lockdown will prove to be the way to go, ie keep the economy ticking over but try to protect the vulnerable etc.
People can’t have it both ways, protect everybody and let the country go to s*it or try and balance it out, and **** the people but save the economy.
People make mistakes but I’d love the people on here continually bashing boris to go do his job at the moment, most wouldn’t have a ****ing scooby what it entails never mind do it, I personally think Boris is doing the best he or anybody who might be PM in very trying circumstances, and funnily over 68% of people surveyed said he’s doing ok.
Turkish, I make loads of mistakes and I am not bashing anyone until it ALL comes out after this *hit.
And I don't have a scooby. Sorry I only come in doors to get some more cider.

Ate you sure about spain? I thought they werent counting untested care home deaths just the same as us. I may be mistaken
Spain was a dodgy one. I read one thing that said they do and another saying they didn't? :emoticon-0104-surpr I would imagine a few private care homes wouldn't want too many COVID deaths on their figures? Same in France various regions do things differently. I guess all figures will come out in the end. However, it's horrid seeing these deaths.

Holy ****.

A newly-reopened Burger King drive-through in Moray had to close due to long queues of traffic.

The burger chain recently announced the reopening of dozens of stores for a mixture of drive-thru and food deliveries.

However, police had to go to the branch in Elgin on Wednesday.

Police Scotland said in a statement: "Police attended after large amounts of traffic. The store closed and traffic dispersed."

A spokeswoman for Burger King said the branch had a "delayed opening" as a result of a fault with a payment machine.

She added: "Burger King staff worked to disperse the queue while the card machine was fixed."

Turkish mate, just ‘cos someone doesn’t agree with you, doesn’t make them stupid or wrong. Come on mate, this is just a forum for people to vent their views. Nothing more, nothing less....we ain’t gonna change the world.

oh btw, Boris is a ****ing **** who eats dead kittens while watching vile dwarf porn ;)

To be fair to Boris who doesn’t watch vile dwarf porn? It’s all the rage :bandit:

I did say I would not post on this thread anymore (I have broken my own rules) but felt I should just mention something.
Turkish I am not sure about France and Care home figures but I know for a fact (as I have read in a French paper) that they are not counting deaths at home. However, you are correct about Italy and Spain who don't count all deaths from care homes.

Although we didn't add at the start we are now counting all deaths. There is still a question over COVID and deaths though.

We put COVID down on the death certificate even if not proven.
From ONS:
COVID 19 was mentioned on the death certificates even if only suspected

Here is an example. I also read that a man was terminally ill and only had a few days to live, died and they put the cause of death as COVID?

The good news is that Mrs. Ellers who is working for the government recording deaths was told yesterday that her services are not needed anymore because of the falling figures.

You could post the mistakes you feel the government have made Ellers ;) (only teasing ya mate, I know you won’t)

I wondered why there were massive traffic jams in my way home from Tesco’s. It was all the fat ****tards queuing up for their next order of heart attack in a bun.....you gottta love ‘em :).

Just tuned in. What is this **** talking about? Do other countries ramble on about soaps and art for 20 minutes to start their briefings?

A quick query, we were told today that hospital discharges were 40% lower (think it was that) back into care homes, compared to january. Could that be because unfortunately they died?

Anyone know how many tests we actually did on real people? If it was 177,000 great, if it wasnt then why are they not being transparent??? One of the few times we have seen our PM was when hes said this government will be transparent in everything possible. It's all a bit cloak and daggers
