You seem to get pleasure about the perveived suffering of others... A sort of triumphalism.. Surely totally uncalled for at this time..???
Well good to hear that... so no more gloating about the winners in future debates eh....... However i think we all on here know that it is very different in many countries.... you can however be selective. Having lost a friend, not elderly but with MS in a care home two weeks ago, I am very keen to know how Hong Kong had not one death in a care home and we have had thousands ..for example. I tihnk you can allow yourself to critique the Government decision without taking it as a party political battle....
Governments, businesses and individuals mess up all the time. There will be ample time, when this pandemic is over, to apportion blame and put in place superior resources so we are much better placed to handle future epidemics / pandemics.
We won't if we get a report on what planning and stocking to do, then ignore it as has happened with all the reports over the past decade.
Absolutely necessary..... and we must ensure the best is being done now Unfortunately the Govt up to now has not wanted to acknowledge key failings and that has led to many criticising them....
I'm afraid more notice would be taken of the criticism from the 'Guardian gang' if it was not on such same old predictable party political lines. I can however understand the frustration after such a thrashing for Labour and LibDem supporters at the recent election.
This interview from 2014 might explain some of BoJo's actions. "...within a year, thirty thousand British men, women and children were dead - and you cannot imagine any modern politician having the guts to do that." Presumably his goal was to do better - and then disappear.
I'm sorry but the only one on here quoting the 'same old predictable party political lines' is yourself - punctuated, that is, only by regular digs at France (or all things foreign). Real debate functions differently !
Totally incorrect ... and here you go politicising ...again.... Face up to the facts.. You continually drag any attempt at debate down with derogatory remarks...
I just had a call from WFC, a very nice lady asking if I needed anything, shopping, lifts, etc. I told her we were absolutely fine apart from occasional abuse from Northern members of the clique. She fully understood and proclaimed 'they know what they do'. She also offered to send Holebas up to Yorkshire when he was next in a bad mood, but as I'm a pacifist, I declined.
Just put a stop to it SH. Your constant winding up of other posters does not impress anyone, it just shows you up.
I think you need to shut up SH. Getting fed up with your off topic posts. I have better things to do than sit around editing out your posts.
I thought we might have moved to some sort of understanding.. . but here you go again. This is really unacceptable.
Studies are starting to come in about the social component of the Coronavirus. Up until now we have known that the elderly and those with existing conditions were more likely to die, now the first statistics are coming in comparing income groups. A clear tendency is emerging ie. people who belong to ethnic minorities and to lower income groups are more likely to a) become infected and b) develop a serious case. The reasons for this are unknown - but could be a combination of poorer people being more dependent on public transport, less able to work from home, and possibly having a less resistent immune system (years of near poverty do nothing for your health !). So it appears that the rich brought it home (those who can afford skiing holidays and trips to exotic locations) and then gave it to the poor !
