'I'm not going in' - Troy Deeney
Watford captain Troy Deeney speaking to Eddie Hearn and Tony Bellew on YouTube: "We’re due back in this week - I’ve said I’m not going in.

"It’s nothing to do with financial gain, hand on heart if I was to go into full detail about my personal situation, everyone here would go no problem, I completely understand what you’re saying.

"My problem was in the meeting, I asked very simple questions, for black, Asian and mixed ethnicities - they’re four times more likely to get the illness, they’re twice as likely to have long lasting illnesses - is there anything extra? Additional screening, heart stuff, to see if people have got problems with that? No? Well I feel that should be addressed.

"My son is only five, he had breathing difficulties, so I don’t want to come home to put him in more danger.

"I can’t get a haircut until mid-July but I can go and get in a box with 19 people and go and jump for a header and nobody could answer the questions, not because they didn’t want to, just because they don’t know the information so I said if you don’t know the information, why would I put myself at risk?"

Apparently 3 of our staff are some of those affected so doubt training will be on anyway for a whille.

Watford staff x 2 and player x 1 tested positive. Where does that take project restart?

I wouldn't play if I was a player and neither should they.

Well some will and some won't.

They will be told to get on with it or potentially not paid.

Season won't stop unless loads more speak up or suffer.

And probably bigger names from top clubs.

Yes I am afraid the story will be to get in with it..
The alpha male mentality too... Very worrying for them and the game

There really are some scumbags in the world. Thankfully, this one proved to be even too much for Twitter and his account has been deleted.

Why are Liverpool fans so worried about it being cancelled ?

They will be given the title regardless given the FA says they won't just cancel the season.

I don't see all this abuse from teams at the bottom who if PPG got used would be relegated.

I think it is a % of their fans..... They must have title... I just think the uncertainty and the notion that Liverpool always thwart themselves...

Same with Leeds and their fate will be decided by the EFL so we and other teams in the Premier league have no control over it..

I know Twitter can bring out the bad in people but some can also have a decent conversation.

The ones who aren't too busy saying things they'd dare not say to his face.

Many agree with Deeney's view point in fact and understand it.

Of course many do.... there are people even Watford supporters... who will call him out over this... but he thrives on this negative attention as he knows he is right etc..... Will be a good role model too.... Back page of the Guardian today too!

Yes like in life there will be those saying "I'll be alright and don't care about it"

I see comment all the time from people of all ages pretty much putting down the vulnerable and elderly as just 2nd rate or not very important compared to their own lives and need to go back to normal.

I can see why older people and those maybe in a bad way feel lonely and left out at times now.

I think he would have had the same stance had we been going for Europe and in the cups.

Troy doesn't strike me as the sort of person who'd say it just because the team aren't doing well.

I doubt he is told by the club want to say as some have claimed.

If he and others were they'd all just say cancel the season without any outcome like Karen Brady did at the start of all this.

And then we all wonder why footballers are so cliche and bland in interviews.

Soon as they say something out of the norm or speak their mind they get stuck.

    Daily Mail:

Several more Watford players are reportedly refusing to train after the club provided three of the six positive coronavirus tests across the Premier League.

I know they are public figures and in the news but not sure reports every day of private meetings and issues help.

Things get mis communicated abd even made up !

The Deeney stuff all started because he was quoted in the papers about expressing his concern in a group meeting.

I guess these days nothing is private !
