    Nobody celebrates it as a win, it was an end to something terrible and all of Europe were happy to see it including the Germans.

    The only thing the Germans were happy about was if they had managed to get far enough to the west to avoid the vengeance of the Red Army but the idea the majority of Germans were happy the the Nazi regime lost is just blatantly untrue .

    err i take it you missed the 75 D-Day commemoration / celebrations last year then in fact these days they are almost rammed down your throat imo.
