Shame on you. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-52...r-arrested-at-anti-lockdown-protest-in-london Jeremy Corbyn's brother arrested at anti-lockdown protest in London Jeremy Corbyn's brother Piers was among 19 people arrested at an anti-lockdown demonstration in London's Hyde Park on Saturday afternoon. Hundreds of people gathered to object to their rights of free speech and movement being curtailed, with some holding several placards and banners including slogans like "freedom over fear".
Yeah, always lower and we see a higher number on a Tuesday to compensate, but whichever way you slice it that’s starting to look like manageable numbers. Will see how this week hits it next week, given the weather we are expecting, but Spain, who have eased lockdown, have reported 87 as well. I don’t wanna get too ahead but it’s genuinely starting to look like it’s coming under control. Fingers crossed.
Hopefully, as long as we can keep the social distancing in theory it should work to managable proportions. That's down to a lot of people not being totally irresponsible, won't hold me breath on that one unfortunately marra.
This is not looking good for South America, given the level of poverty and lack of free medical care for the general population. Brazil has overtaken Spain and Italy to become the country with the fourth largest number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the world. Officials on Saturday reported 14,919 new cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 233,142. Only the US, Russia and the UK have higher numbers. The daily death toll in the Latin American nation rose by 816 to 15,633 - the world's fifth highest. Experts warn that the real figure may be far higher due to a lack of testing. The number of new cases in the UK is still far too high to consider any form of relaxation of the current lock down measures IMHO.
Lock Down it came in far too late, and is being relaxed far too soon, and without any clear thought or guidance, These decisions can only be accredited to one source, the Tory Government, influenced purely by the money markets. Broadly condemned by the general public, this is not democracies finest hour, far from it.
134 deaths last 24 hrs We'd probably get that every day in Britain without coronavirus Still any drop is welcome
Even though it's a drop it's still a stupidly high number. Yet they want to send the bairns back to schools, which are notorious for spreading germs.. Aye their age group isnt affected as much but their parents and family are...
Looking better marra. 67 or so increase , was expecting more being Tuesday . Hopefully the trend continues.
I have to admit I'm a bit confused with all this. If we 'get it under control' it will still be out there. At one time it was 'confined' to a place I'd never heard of in far away China where it was killing people. We somehow allowed it to come here and start killing us. It's so far killed around 50,000 of us and there's no vaccine or cure, there may never be. So how can we be sure, when we start mixing again, that it won't all kick off again. Not being pessimistic, I just don't know how it all works.
Don't think the so called experts do mate . I know it's a new thing and all the top scientists are trying for a vaccine. Now in the last day or so we're told that the symptoms now include loss of smell and taste. Well our gaffer at work had lost both but didn't have the information we have just been given....... that was 8 f****** weeks ago.
That's the million dollar question, how do we stop it kicking off again. As much as it is needed and it's great we are starting to ease out of lockdown, we all need to be responsible and not allow all the effort of the past weeks go to waste by returning to "normal" I'm trying to be positive and view this as a chance to reset a few things. I don't need to be in the office 4 days a week, lockdown has proved that so I won't be going back to it when things ease off. We have adapted to a weekly shop, rather than a few bits every couple of days, there's no reason to go back to it
545 just announced almost double that 276 mentioned earlier. Are we now saying that 545 people a day dying from a disease is acceptable and we can go back to the way things were before this happened? As Smug said, there is no cure or vaccine and we had one of the government's own scientific advisers admitting there may never be one.
