So my boys mum messaged me yesterday saying she's not sure about sending him back to school next month if they do open then. Can see big disagreements coming here. Should be fun.


Anyone else got concerns about sending kids back if they're in the specific year groups?

 

Big conversation point in our house as my Mrs is a teacher at secondary level.

She's unsure about going back to work but is stuck in the house all day every day with our kids.

Personally, I think schools should go back in September but it's the siege mentality and institutionalisation of her and the kids for the next three months that's the concern, it'll do everyone's heads in.

The kids are all just stuck on screens as soon as they've done whatever work has been set each morning. They do that reluctantly anyway.

This is going to be happening all over Britain. Kids need to get out and go back to school but how is it going to work?

We're lucky, none of our three are in a crucial year group. This won't have a big effect if they sack it off till September. There are loads who are in critical years though, they need to get back to it.

 

looking at the way the politicians have already acted im not sure we should take anything they say as safe.......i agree with your ex.........safety first

If medical and science statistics tell you that children are largely unaffected, does that convince anyone that kids can return to school?

 

you can if you want but its them that will tell kids 2 go back 2 school.............im assuming no adults work in schools that could pick up the virus from a child infected

 

I really don't understand how they plan on getting year R's (my lads year group) to social distance, though I understand their worries about them missing half their first year. Hardly the most critical group though as you allude to.

When this all kicked off I too assumed it would just be off until September but they do seem determined to push it for next month. Suppose there'll be people who can't go back to work as it stands.

Tough one whatever way you look at it.

 

On another note if June was possible could they have not done the exams that were cancelled?
