Anyone still a member? I don't see the point in it any more. Our first team is just a preparation for our more talented youngsters before they move on to a decent club. When members pay their subs they could cut out the middle man and just make a cheque payable directly to Roland esq.
i cancelled mine last summer. we'd been members for 5 years i think. really enjoyed some of the perks like training ground days, but that started going and so did the other perks. then to top it off the young players started being flogged. when i quit it i made sure that was the reason i gave for stopping.
I let mine run out. I really don't see why anyone would subscribe to Valley Gold. It is just a free gift to the Multi millionaire owner.
Valley Gold should be euthanised. I was an original member and it started off with the best of intentions Now it is nothing more than a glorified Standing Order from decent Charlton fans straight into Duchatelet's coffers. I would question the intelligence of anyone who can't see it Konsa will be next out
Valley Gold was once a wonderful thing, created for the very best of reasons. Sadly it was subverted by Roland, who made all the good work it did meaningless. Sorry, but if I wasn't willing for the money I might put into Valley Gold going towards lining Duchatelet's pockets, I'll be damned if I'm going to 'invest' in making Nimer or Southall richer. Charlton Athletic Football Club deserves better than to have crooks and swindlers as its owners. I don't give my money to criminals and con-men. Especially when they're holding the Club I love hostage.
I'm a bit of a latecomer, but can't change the past now. The World has changed. No room anymore for crooks and meddlers in our football. Zero tolerance now for those who would hurt CAFC or sponge off it or exploit it, for whatever reason.
