it is a recurring theme we didnt take our chances against most opposition , we have been as clinical as a dustman!! and we keep gifting wins away at home with blunders and lack of concentration!
We didn't score goals we should have scored, i agree. But i don't agree that we haven't been clinical. Up until yesterday, most matches we played were a good mix of passing and hoofing. A rare lapse of concentration at the back lost us the game yesterday, but it's not fair to say that yesterday was typical of the Watford of late.
I was wondering what had happened to Bassini's old PR department... And I completely agree with Hornette.
Being clinical means we take the majority of chances offered a bit like the NZ All Blacks do at the moment in the rugby! Are we being clinical ? Not a chance no where near! Christ on saturday we struggled to create a couple of opportunities! The fact is Forest were a poor side ......and beat us! Come on NNW and H that isnt actually the first time this season we have lost to a team that played rubbish is it!
It's not, but it's the first time we haven't deserved to win. Norway, with all due respect (and i never use that phrase usually by the way lol) i'm afraid you'd have to have watched other games to be able to truly comment on how the performances have been so far this season. Judging it on one game and slating the performance, thinking it is how it's been all season is completely ignoring what those that have watched the games are telling you. I'm not sure why you would do that.
I think that you are being too hard on what is still work in progress Norway. From what I hear from the commentaries, I have only actually seen the one TV game, our defence is far more solid than last season. Time and again we would read on here that the defence was a shambles and why with two defenders in charge didn't they get and sort it out. Yes there was a grim mix up between three players, and if you read around you will find that each of them in turn gets the blame. Seemingly the fans who were at the game are not sure what happened, except they know that it should not have been. I saw four good opportunities for us to score and I think that on another occasion one at least would have gone in. What we have been forced into is buying players that we can afford, and we know that there is a big gulf between those who can finish the half chance and the prices that they can command, way outside of our budget.
Until our attackers get their act together our solid defence needs to stop having its traditional once a game mad moment.
H have watched 4! thanks to tinternet ,mostly the away games by most reports we did better and I still wasnt that impressed! but saturday imo was dross! I am hoping we dont receive a caning on saturday and the best I`m hoping for is that the goal diff doesnt get too battered!
That is true Frenchie but why bring in say 10 average players ,when maybe bring in 5 slightly better and continue using the kids that broke through last year! Agreed the defence looks less wobbly than normal , having a proper lb possibly helps but as Zen has alluded too when we are not scoring many we cant afford these habitual lapses of concentration at the back!
4 chances in a game created , a chance every 22.5 mins , unless you have world class(sorry Brendan) strikers thats not enough!
we did a lot better...i'm proud of the way we've been playing...yes we've made mistakes and haven't been able to finish, but our passing has been good, and we've managed to mix up play well. Like i say, don't judge it on Saturday, which at the end of the day wasn't so bad that we have to start panicking!
My guess would be that the class players were out of our price range and we are still looking at the loan market. If you play the kids for a couple of games, then rest them, you still need numbers. We had to rely on the younger players too much last season and it was shown that they will be inconsistent if over played.
Well lets hope for a marked improvement today! Happy bday to me 21 again for the umpteenth time ! and I have no available beer or wine in the house sob !
If there the sort of loans that go back after Xmas better hurry up a bit , at least give us time to learn their names
Unless we get a couple of positive results very soon, then any prospective half-decent loan player is going to take one look at the table and decide that even if they want first team football, they don't want it with a struggling team. Of course if they're with a struggling team already....but then would we want him?
Just saw this on BBC, made me chuckle, typical L*ton http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15063746.stm
