Not defending what was clearly a mistake based on misinformation, but weren't our hospitals supposed to be completely over run by all this?

The decision, at the time, was that the elderly would go back to their homes to be made 'comfortable', while hospitals dealt with the tens of thousands of people who would need icu care.

The latter didn't actually happen. The info that it would was WHO info though.

 

By the way, good to see some good old Tory bashing after two days of chocolate.

I thought the virus had gone away for a minute!

 

Our excess death spike suggests it should have been used but wasn’t.

Still it allows them to celebrate the fact we weren’t overrun and keep mentioning it day after day.

One of the best historical drama series I've watched in a long time and based on true accounts.

 

but why send someone from a hospital to a nursing home when you know they have the virus as that is a certain way to spread the virus. Also if reports are true on occasions the nursing homes weren't warned that the patients had the virus .

 

Can't see how that happens if they had tested positive, it would have been included in the discharge paperwork.

What should have been used?

 

The capacity we’re proudly celebrating. Something about our numbers are iffy whether it’s suppressing the true level of Covid or going so far with protecting against Covid we’ve created a bigger increase in other deaths than had to happen.

well i suppose it is one way of ensuring hospitals aren't overrun but does seem like a total abrogation of responsibility and i cannot see the point .I can see some logic in if a person develops covid 19 in a nursing home to not admit them to hospital .
