My son in law is an engineer and is currently working on the cross rail project in London.
he's self isolating for three months at home cos of health issues and tells me he's getting more work done from home than he does when in he's in the office on site in London.
there are fewer interruptions as colleagues can't call in and interrupt him and he hopes that when this is all over he can carry on without having to commute to the Capital.
He's not holding his breath though.

While my son in law is off work he uses Skype calls, WhatsApp for photos, Internet banking, and an App to send documents, etc.

He works in a machine shop so it's nowt to do with his job, just keeping in touch with his mates and a bit of online betting <laugh>

I'm sure 50% of business travel is absolutely pointless.

The amount of air traffic is mind boggling its time to think about increasing fuel tax not building more runways. I was seriously thinking of voting Green in the last election and would have if we had had a fairer system, something needs to change, as this system of winner takes all, leads to the present situation, which is more of a dictatorship than a democracy.

Ditto the A1 north of Morpeth. It's ridiculous that the main trunk road between the North East and Scotland is single lane in places.

Yeah, lets keep the schools open and encourage kids to attend <doh>

    From the Sydney Morning Herald...

    "
Doctors in France and northern Italy, one of the areas hardest hit by the new coronavirus, have reported spikes in cases of a rare inflammatory syndrome in young children that appears similar to one reported in the US, Britain and Spain, according to a report in The Lancet.

The condition, "Pediatric Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome Potentially Associated with COVID-19", shares symptoms with toxic shock and Kawasaki disease including fever, rashes, swollen glands and, in severe cases, heart inflammation.

Reports of cases have raised concerns that COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, could pose a greater risk to children than had been understood. COVID-19 so far has taken its greatest toll on the elderly and those with chronic health conditions."

This antibody test being cleared as ‘100%’ accurate is massive as well.

    Light in sight.

That's just hospitals so more to add later Unfortunatley, but the numbers are definitely going the right way.

As @Nads said above the antibody test is a huge ray of light and if we can get the track and trace working quickly as well we might actually start getting things back to a vague normal

Was on the radio earlier the infection rate in London was in the twenties for the last day - bad news is the North east is supposed to be the hot spot with 4000! Seems very high to me I wonder if it was a typo on the newsreaders sheet and someone had accidentally added an extra 0

    Massive.

I believe this is where the ‘4th July’ guide comes from, timeline with the app being fixed up and the antibody testing being underway.

Sadly mate the infection rate per head up here is absolutely brutal.

vs Population we are way higher than most areas.

This shows a good picture, I’ve pulled as close as I can to the combined combination of our 2 cities v East Sussex, and area with a similar overall population.

    It’s grim reading.

    Sadly not.

Yorkshire rate is falling, ours continues to rise.

Sunderland and Middlesbrough remain 2 of the worst hit in the land, Newcastle is a wee bit better.

We have a huge concentration of contact centre workers up here, I don’t know if there’s a link there. Those guys been working throughout.
