    Actually fascinating stuff this. Had a wee Google to see what other actors fought in the war. James Doohan, Scotty in Star Trek fought with the Canadian army. His first taste of combat was on Juno beach during D-Day.

    Christopher Lee volunteered in Finland to fight against the Nazi's during the winter war of 1939.

    Audrey Hepburn fought with the Dutch resistance when she was a kid. Relaying messages through occupied Holland.

    Jon Pertwee was a spy who served alongside Ian Fleming.

    I knew he played a ship’s captain in The African Queen. And Katherine Hepburn made him tip all his booze in the river.
